PROMOTION / RELEGATION PLAY-OFFS
Finals:
Go Ahead Eagles - FC Volendam
Roda JC Kerkrade - Sparta Rotterdam
Go Ahead Eagles is back in the Eredivisie 17 years after their last relegation. The Eagles won with 3-0 at their own stadium, so Volendams 1-0 victory in the second match didn't matter.
Meanwhile Roda and Sparta kept each other at 0-0 in the first match. Sparta surprisingly took the lead in the second match at Roda's stadium, but two late free kicks by Mark-Jan Fledderus (2-1 at the 90th minute!!!) kept Roda JC in the Eredivisie for their 41st consecutive season.
EUROPA LEAGUE PLAY-OFFS
Finals
FC Utrecht - FC Twente
As you already knew by lokytrew's amount of bananas, Utrecht has made it into Europe. A 2-0 victory in the first match did the job as Twente won the second match with 2-1.
So that ends the 2012-13 Eredivisie season. VVV and Willem II are relegated, they're being replaced by Cambuur and Go Ahead Eagles. AZ finishes a horrible season with the cup win. Twente, who were in the lead at one-thirth of the league, don't even get into Europe. Feyenoord, Vitesse and Utrecht take the Europa League spots, PSV is qualified for the Champions League qualification rounds. But most important is that Ajax again came back after a bad season start to take the 32nd title in the club history.
That was the 2012-13 season. Next year a new thread or should I continue the 2013-14 season in this thread?

Well, Utrecht has deserved it, with a relatively little amount of money they did very well. Cambuur and Go Ahead are nice clubs with good supporters and stadium, at least better than VVV. I had hoped WillemII had stayed however

Yeah, I've got sympathy for Cambuur & Eagles. Willem II simply didn't deserve to stay in the Eredivisie, so I won't cry about them
And Utrecht indeed deserved it. Yet, I think Twente could've gained 'us' more points in Europe, which is always good for the league itself.

It isn't really Eredivisie, but...
HAHAHAHAHAHA FC UTRECHT
Out of the Europa League by F*cking Differdange?! Those are semiprofs, I believe.
It proves my point a few posts above though, FC Utrecht can't deliver us any points

Yay! Counters of AZ were too dangerous, but Ajax was better overall. |

So guys, a new season in Dutch football has started with an Ajax win in the Johan Cruijff Schaal. The Amsterdam side starts off the Eredivisie on Friday with a home match against Roda JC. Meanwhile, at the same time, the Jupiler League will also kick-off with 4 matches.
As you can see, I changed the thread name from 'Dutch Eredivisie' to 'Dutch football talks', because in the previous year we also discussed the KNVB Cup and sometimes the Dutch national team in this thread. That means that this thread will be open for ALL Dutch football talks.
As I said, the domestic leagues will start on Friday. What are your opinions about the 2013-14 season? Who will be national champions? Who will promote to next years Eredivisie? Who will be the cup winner? And do you think that van Gaal and his Orange army can perform well in Brazil? There's a whole season left to answer all those questions in this thread.
WELCOME TO DUTCH FOOTBALL TALKS | SEASON 2013-14.

I fear that it's between Ajax & PSV this year.
Though Ajax doesn't look too strong yet, but that's hard to say so early in the season.
Feyenoord can get a 3rd place, haven't seen a team that can make it really hard for them yet, since Vitesse lost their 2 best players. But well, they will probably get some more Chelsea players to prove me wrong
My prediction:
1. Psv
2. Ajax
3. Feyenoord
4. Vitesse
5. AZ(Yes, AZ...)

Ajax wins for sure
1 Ajax
2 PSV
3 Vitesse
4 Feyenoord (I hope 18th, but I don't think that's going to happen)
5 FC Twente

It's gonna be a cool season.
My prediction:
1. Ajax (no one can match them.)
2. PSV
3. Feyenoord (I'm crossing my fingers for Vitesse)
4. Vitesse
5. SC Heereveen
6. AZ
7. FC Twente
8. FC Groningen
9. ADO
10. NEC
11. NAC
12. FC Utrecht
I think Roda is gonna get relegated.
To the Dutch team in Brazil, I don't think they can go really far. Maybe the Quarter-Finals, but that's it. I believe in Van Gaal, but he needs to get it together and form the best possible team. And the Dutch players need to step it up. And Toornstra needs to go. That's A MUST!

Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah. Just hold it right there. Roda got guys like Anouar Kali, Kees Luijckx and Henk Dijkhuizen in the transfer window. They played against KV Mechelen from Belgium last Tuesday, and Roda did an incredibly good job there, can't believe it was just 1-0. The long balls from the defence to Malki and Demouge are gone, Roda is now going to play more combination football, with Kali as a great build-up player.
Now if this doesn't get Roda into the left row I'll surely do some sort of Daggen Smash at the end of the season.

1. Ajax
2-18. Don't care
Cup: Ajax
Relegation: Between Eagles, Cambuur, Zwolle, Roda JC and everyone else that finishes in the bottom 9.
Promotion: Jong Ajax (even though it's not possible Probably Willem II or Sparta)
Edit: I have no hopes of the national team in Brazil. Depends a bit on the draw. Too many talents, no quality. If Schaken is our best right winger, you know it's bad....

Hmm... I feel like you're a bit biased
I share your opinion about Brazil, I don't have really high hopes either. But we have to keep those talents in, I think that in France(2016) and Russia(2018), we have quite a good chance, we have a strong generation coming.
