Yay. Finally some luck. And what a stage to win from all of these. Nicely done Fothen...
Too bad those mins didn't stick, then he would have had a serious shot at finishing in top, but that was never really going to happen.
A stagewin here is great though, and with a ton of riders abandoning I might actually get a good result from Holloway now. Fothen could be ending up in 18th here which is good considering he was looking at something like 40th at one point. Only 3 guys left though.

Ok, so can Madrazo take 2 minutes from Cunego. Nope, so this is all about protecting second.

Nice win for JW.
Quite an interesting result in the peloton when it came home - what's that going to mean for the Champs? |

Probably a breakaway! That, or a GC rider sprint off. Would be epic if Madrazo leads Cunego by a small amount of seconds after the TT, and Cunego is there, sprinting for the stage and the tour.
And thats not giving anything away, the TT is currently being played right now, so I dont know what will happen!

Would be a class way to win the Tour - an 8/12/20 second bonus in Paris.
I hope I make it through the TT with the lead though. It's long and Madrazo has a good advantage though. |

Well, looks like Wiggle has the Team competition locked down. Good game, rjc

Another fine performance in the breakaway from Moinard - a shame there is always someone stronger in the break!
Possibly one more chance on the last stage - TT's are obviously not going to yield anything for JRB.
The battle between the top 2 obviously has headline billing in the TT, but there are some other mini-battles all over the leaderboard such as 4th and 5th (Spilak and Dekker) and 7th through to 11th. We will also see if Phinney can dominate the stage as well!

I liked seeing all those French guys up there, one of them in particular.
Congrats to JW, the real question is whether anyone will be outside the time limit on the Champs Elysees? After all, you can't rely on Cya Logic. I can only presume that the 17 were outside a certain percentage of the winners time, on a stage rated either flat or hilly, hence there DQ'ing. |

Thanks fenian and jph.
Smowz, Chavanel wasn't just stronger than Moinard, he destroyed the entire breakaway
And this win gives my team some nice stats:
- stage wins in all 2012 GTs
- 10 GT stage wins in 2 years
- 4 Tour de France stages in 2 years
I would say that's some pretty decent performances for a team that has only 3 years of existence.

Sup.
That said, i'm extremely disappointed with this TdF. I knew Keizer would have a hard time to get a top 20. But my team overall hasn't been in that many breaks, and when they are, it's either the wrong day or just the wrong rider. Van Stayen should have gotten a stage though, but that's my fault for not having a decent lead-out.

Van Stayen doesn't have a great acceleration. That's why you need to put him in the perfect position if you want him to take the stage win. Like Sieberg did last year and Van Stayen delivered twice.

Looks like I will leave without a GT stage win this year. But the mountains jersey is ample replacement. Duret has consistently come up with the goods, despite being a pretty average rider stats-wise.

12th in Giro, 12th in Vuelta, 12th in Tour. At least we are consistent.

Congratulations, fenian! The overall win should be safe now, which should give you a nice amount of much-needed points aswell.
And big thanks for the reports, SN. They've been absolutely outstanding, looking forward to one "final stand", in Paris

Although I'm not in the man-game, I've really enjoyed following the tour, and that last report was really great. Congrats to fenian and Cunego!

Plain disappointing. This was the last chance really, as a break will get the win tommorow.
