These stages are pretty annoying. All these attacks, and in the end, the bunch comes together. Really no fun playing them...

No fun playing but when you have a climber with a MO stat of 77 the goal is just to keep up and not lose time, so I was happy that everyone came back together. Wink

Would be nice to see Peraud enter top15...he still has time for that, hope he has the legs too...Wink

Tour de France - Stage 14

July 16, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/Profile.jpg

It is no secret that the big guns will show what they are made of on this stage. Also note, that every rider who has previously won at Plateau de Beille has gone on to the win the Tour that same year…

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/1.jpg

The breakaway is formed at the gun, Brice Feillu doesn't get any competition for the KoM points, which makes him happy.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/2.jpg

And again, Feillu should have a great day to rack up the points today.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/3.jpg

Roman Kreuziger is off on another sucide attempt today.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/4.jpg

The same goes for Tom Danielson.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/5.jpg

Kreuziger catches the breakaway up the third climb,
but does let Feillu take his points.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/6.jpg

A few more favourites attack on the next climb,
including Peraud, Antón, Horner, and Kiryienka.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/7.jpg

But a few teams aren't happy with those attacks and brings them all back.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/8.jpg

Kreuziger implodes the breakaway up the climb.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/9.jpg

And as we start the final climb he holds a lead of 4'35".

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/10.jpg

The peloton picks up the morning breakaway riders on the way to the climb,
leaving just Kreuziger up front.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/11.jpg

But that doesn't last long as Andy Schleck goes on the attack!
A pretty selfish move with 3-4 teammates still in the peloton,
he decides to attack instead of chasing.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/12.jpg

Contador and Gesink attack in hopes of chasing Andy down.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/13.jpg

These attacks have drained the energy out of Peraud legs,
he is dropped off the back around 25th place.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/14.jpg

4kms to go, Contador and Gesink come up to Kreuziger.
But Andy is another 1'30" up the road.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/15.jpg

The twisting roads make catching Andy even harder ...

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/16.jpg

And they just couldn't close down the gap,
Andy Schleck dominates the Pyrenees.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2014/17.jpg

Peraud struggles today finishing 29th, but only falls one spot in GC to 18th.
Hopefully the Alps are more friendly for him and the team.

Interview - Jean-Christophe Peraud

Q: You were dropped pretty early today, what happened?
A: It was a hard day, 23 riders abandonned today, including teammate Alexandre Pichot, if that gives you an idea. I did my best to stay up their but my legs can only last so long, plus my old age isn't helping me either, I can't keep up with this young guns.

Tour de France - Stage 15

July 17, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/Profile.jpg

The sprinters are given one last stage
before they will have to wait for the final famous stage through Paris.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/1.jpg

Larsson along with 10 other riders
will try to spoil the sprinter's party for today.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/2.jpg

At the sprint point however their lead is just 4'20".

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/3.jpg

But then rain starts falling, the danger level of this stage has doubled as none of the GC favourites wants to crash entering the final week.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/4.jpg

Yet again though Sky makes the catch safely, so the bunch sprint is on.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/5.jpg

With Cavendish getting into the team car yestuday,
Farrar and EBH are the clear favourites.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/6.jpg

Farrar gets a perfect leadout from Hushovd
as Ale-Jet starts his sprint 800 meters out.
On the other hand, Hagan's train is have problems keeping up.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/7.jpg

So it comes down to Farrar Vs. Petacchi.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/8.jpg

A Photo Finish! Can't get much closer then that.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2015/9.jpg

Tyler Farrar is pretty cocky that he won, lifting his arms up.
But as it turns out he was right, he did nip Petacchi on the line.
So I guess he has extremely good eyes and knew he won
(or he just got lucky).
No time lost by any of the favourites today.

Interview - Thomas Lofkvist

Q: A few hilly stages to come following the rest day tomorrow, what are the tatics going to be for those stages?
A: Well it's going to be me looking for stage wins and keeping Peraud safe and with the favourites.

Tour de France - Stage 16

July 19, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/Profile.jpg

Not quite the Alps yet, but hills from Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux to Gap
should challenge the favourites.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/1.jpg

A steady breakaway is hard to come by today,
once it reached 15-20 riders the breakaway even stopped working
knowing they were going to be pulled back.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/2.jpg

Finally 50kms it looks like we got a breakaway away.
And EA-Sony does very well getting both
Van Garderen and Lofkvist in this group.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/3.jpg

Well this group isn't formed just yet,
Stijn Devolder comes across and leads over the first climb.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/4.jpg

And one more rider bridges the gap, Sandy Casar.
Their lead is 5 minutes with 50kms to go. So,
they have a chance to stay away.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/5.jpg

At the start of the final climb, 22kms to go, the gap is 3'35".
The breakaway riders are now starting to dream of a stage win.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/6.jpg

Lofkvist attacks 2kms from the top, he wants this!
A sponsor goal is on the line.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/7.jpg

Casar is the only man to stick with Lofkvist.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/8.jpg

A few lower placed GC riders attack near the top including Peraud.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/9.jpg

But they are all caught on the downhill.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/10.jpg

It's clear now that one of these riders is going to win the stage!

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/11.jpg

As the road flattens out Lofkvist makes his move,
everyone in the team car is shouting their lungs out!

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/12.jpg

But Casar is fighting back, he isn't going to let Lofkvist win that easily ...

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/13.jpg

How heart breaking ... Sandy Casar steals Lofkvist win during the sprint.
Everyone in the team car is stunned.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/14.jpg

The other breakaway survivors take places 3 through 7.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2016/15.jpg

And the bad luck continues. Major crash with 1km to go takes down Peraud,
along with John Gadret, Alexandre Vinokourov, Ryder Hesjedal,
Roman Kreuziger, Robert Gesink, and Peter Velits.
Even though the crash happened in the last 3kms the organizers
decide not to give them the same time as everybody else,
they all lose 1'45". A tough stage to shallow,
but looking back on it a 2nd is a great result.

Interview - Thomas Lofkvist

Q: You were so close to winning today's stage, anything you would have done different?
A: Yeah, I made two seperate mistakes that might have cost me the win. The first was not waiting long enough on the final climb to attack. And the second was not attacking on the downhill. But in the end I still almost pulled out a win for the team. And it looks like the team has to go stage hunting after Peraud went down in the crash.

A Great second place for Lofkvist Wink

Unlucky not getting the win. Don't know how Casar's sprint stats are, comparing to Lofkvist's sprint stats. Probably better, otherwise you would have waited for the sprint.

You are correct, Casar sprint stat is 67 while Lofkvist is 60. And yet Lofkvist almost pulled it out, getting passed 700 meters from the finish.

I'm in the process of moving the save onto another computer which has way better graphics, however two things need to happen first.
2. I need to get Cyanide to give me another activation code since I have lost my other activation in my trash mail.

How long does it usually take Cyanide to email you back? I'm at 28 hours now. I really want to move the save asap because the graphics on my other cpu are 10x better then what I have now. And where should I have sent the email if I bought the game from the link that gave PCM.daily some of the profits. In conclusion, I'm ready to see what this 'new' cpu can do but this stupid activation code is holding me back. Angry

I got the activation code Grin I played stage 17 before I got it, so the way better graphics should come on stage 18 Wink

Tour de France - Stage 17

July 20, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/Profile.jpg

One last day through the hills before the mountains.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/1.jpg

The first attempt at the morning breakaway includes Feillu,
but more interesting J-C Peraud. Looks like he is going all in today.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/2.jpg

But the peloton is unhappy with this group all day,
they are pulled back 3-4 times by the time we reach the sprint point.
The peloton isn't willing to let Peraud go.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/3.jpg

So EA-Sony moves into plan #2, Lofkvist and Martin.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/4.jpg

They are joined by Horner and yesturday's winner Casar
before reaching the top of the first climb.
But the peloton is giving them no room,
just a minute lead as the approach the next climb.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/5.jpg

And again, the gap is hovering right around a minute
as they head into the long downhill section.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/6.jpg

The peloton is down playing games with them
and pulls them back 7kms before the start of the final climb.
But this leads to more attacks, Philippe Gilbert, Tejay Van Garderen,
and Chris Horner (again) aren't giving up on stealing the stage win.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/7.jpg

But they have the same ending as everyone else today, caught.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/8.jpg

Here go the favourites, Contador attacks with Andy Schleck closely behind.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/9.jpg

The aftermath of this move splits the peloton into three groups.
Peraud can be found in the second group.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/10.jpg

13 riders make up the first group, that will decide the stage winner.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/11.jpg

Michele Scarponi takes an unlikely win today ahead of French favourite Gadret.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2017/12.jpg

Peraud and Van Garderen finish in group 2, 53 seconds later.

Interview - Jean-Christophe Peraud

Q: Will we be seeing more breakaway attempts from you in the next two stages?
A: Probably not a morning breakaway like I tried today, but possible an early attack on a climb at least on of the days. I got really nothing to lose now and everything to gain.

Nice riding. I guess you have to try something big, looking at the position you're in. And I'm looking forward to the improved graphics!

Hope Peraud can keep his top twenty place Wink

Mresuperstar
@Cunego59: Mine as well try, not like he can slip that much farther down the leaderboard. And I just played stage 18, the pictures are stunning Grin It was almost like I was playing a whole new game!

@sutty68: We are going to try Wink

Report will be up later today Smile

Tour de France - Stage 18

July 21, 2011

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/Profile.jpg

Let's go! We are down to 4 stages, the Alps challenge the climbers twice
before the critical ITT then the joy ride through the streets of Paris.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/1.jpg

One of the numerous breakaways that fail to get away.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/2.jpg

Eventually this three man group makes our BOTD.
They are all great riders as well;
Thomas Voeckler, Michele Scarponi, and Philippe Gilbert.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/3.jpg

The breakaway starts the climb with a 6 minute advantage.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/4.jpg

And there does Peraud as expected,
he needing to make some sort of daring move today.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/5.jpg

Peraud is joined by Kreuziger is they join the original breakaway
a kilometer from the top, Gilbert is dropped from the group.
He must have forget these were mountains not hills.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/6.jpg

They go over the top with a 8 minute lead over the peloton.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/7.jpg

But when the peloton reaches the summit the breakaway
is up to 12 minutes! Leopard-Trek doesn't seem worried at all.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/8.jpg

The breakaway is working great together,
everyone taking equal turns on front. They all know what is at stake,
all of them have a chance to jump into the top 10 (or better) overall
if Leopard-Trek doesn't get a chase organized soon.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/9.jpg

Their lead is almost unbelievable, 15 minutes over the top of Col d'Izoard.
Is the peloton even trying?

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/10.jpg

A few favourites in the peloton are now starting to doubt Leopard
and head off solo, including Igor Anton ...

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/11.jpg

Julien El Fares and Vasil Kiryienka.
And even Gilbert hasn't been pulled back yet.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/12.jpg

As well as Irishman Nicolas Roche.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/13.jpg

The peloton is still at tree level, they are letting this stage
(and the race) slip away from them if they don't react quick.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/14.jpg

20kms to go, Leopard are starting to do some work
as the breakaway lead is 10 minutes.
Or maybe that's just because the leaders are starting to fatigue.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/15.jpg

Kreuziger is the first breakaway man dropped
as Scarponi is hammering up this final climb.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/16.jpg

Then goes Voeckler, Peraud is hanging with everything he has left.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/17.jpg

The favourites finally attack as they reach 11kms to go.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/18.jpg

Peraud can't keep up with Scarponi either.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/19.jpg

Too bad since Scarponi is home free, an amazing victory.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/20.jpg

Peraud has nothing in his tank,
and is passed by Anton in the final kilometer.
But never the less, a true show of strength
and determination from our climber today to finish 3rd.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Tour%20de%20France/Stage%2018/21.jpg

The favourites make up a lot of time on the final climb,
and come to the line 6 minutes behind Scarponi.
Peraud picks up a lot of time today and jumps 5 spots to 15th overall.

Interview -

Q: First off, outstanding ride. But it looked like you were going to pick up more then just two minutes, what happened?
A: In the last 3kms I was just struggling for air. I literally had nothing left in my tank. I almost got off the bike and started walking up the climb in the last 500 meters. It felt like I was rolling back down the mountain.
