How the hell the Germans manage to get that many medals
And there is still a chance for the women. Don`t believe on the men, even if Martens is very strong in my opinion. |

What the fuck, two bronze-winners. Phinney was 10 cm ahead or so.

I think Martens is a dangerous outsider.
Matthews looks very promising. I hope to see him grab a couple of wins for Rabobank next year. |

Cavendish is 'back'
Belgian television RTBF published an article on its website three days about Cavendish. According to the article, he said to press that "the course is certainly too difficult for me" after seeing the climb first-hand and that it forced him to "revise his ambitions."
"No. I never said that. Everything they said was complete bulls**t," he said before starting a training ride with Jeremy Hunt, Nicholas Roche and Bernhard Eisel.

I hope I'm wrong but I think it is too hard for Cav judging by the U23 race. No one team really tried to "make" the race and make it hard for the sprinters, a lot of the big teams rode for a sprint and even then there were only 40 guys left. If the Italians make it tough from a few laps out I suspect there will be carnage |

So if Phinney can get over the climbs fine does that mean the course is easy enough for Cav?

Or maybe the differences in U23 performance levels are closer...?

U23 teams are also smaller. That too can make the race different. |

I think the race will end in a break on Sunday. Guys like Gilbert and the Spaniards will be flying up those last two climbs and cause havok. If Cancellara can hang on he is a good chance, but he will have to dig deep to stay with the front guys. But if he gets over that last climb on the tail of the front guys, he should take it from there.
But i think the men might start attacking from lap 9, it could be a very chaotic finish with bulk attacking! |

Great win for Matthews, yet another World Champion on a Pro Tour squad. |

In a sprint it was always going to be Degenkolb vs. Matthews.
My pre-race tip was these top two, but reversed. Degenkolb went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early.

Arguably the fastest U-23 sprinter in the world. If it was a flat sprint, he'd have a great chance of winning.

Well Edvald Boasson Hagen is U-23 but is to good to be in that categorie that he rides for the Elite, thats a talent and not does ho are in the U-23 and do it well but those ho are "under 23" and matches the elite riders, like Sagan or Phinney that i think will make it good later. ( i know Phinney is a U-23 rider)
Im on the edge... of glory

Yeh, its just worth baring in mind that even if they are under 23 in age, once a rider joins a 'ProTour' team - they can no longer be classified as an U23 rider
