Actually Cancellara is the guy who acted as you'd expect, defeding his team's interests. It's Sastre's (or Gesink's, Menchov's, Hushovd's, etc) attitude what I don't understand.
Maybe they don't want to win that way. |

First of all: If i had an Euro for everytime someone resorted to feigning ignorance or attacking me instead of dealing with what i write, i would have quite a bit by now...
Secondly: Rainy road? Downhill? Alleged oil spill? Im pretty sure a lot of people had their health at stake here. Drama queen.

In the end, what's the difference with attacking in a descent ? Or say, a random rainy descent. |

People seem to ignore the fact that several riders claim that there was oil on the road - meaning it wasn't just a "random rainy descent". Oil makes some difference, don't you think? |

Attacks would have forced further crashes, and why taking the risk of a crash so early in the race?

So? Passage du Gois was slippery and not normal as well.
Did armstrong wait there in 99?
No.
Still think it's a field of stinking hypocrits and some teams (Rabo included) should've ignored Cancellara and ride |

He said he was pissed because they wasn't allow to sprint for second place. He thought that was the wrong decision, he also called Prudhomme right after the stage and asked which rule they relied on for cancelling the points for everyone except Chavanel
I think he got a point, I think they should have been allowed to sprint for second place. |

Of course he is And it was a clear advantage for him and Farrar that they cancelled the points today, if they hadn't, I'm pretty sure Cavendish would be out of the race of green after tomorrow. |

I'd be too, after what he did in the Tour de Suisse. |

Tommorrow, Cavendish out of green race? HA! The cobbled sectors aren't too hard tomorrow, and Cavendish isn't exactly a novice at riding cobbles, ok he's not as good as Hushovd, but it doesn't matter, there's a large distance.
@Kumazan - Don't get me started on that, Cavendish was not 100% responsible for that crash, and if you want my wealth of information on that crash can be called on. But save yourself the hassle of that.

Farrar will probably have to give up.
Vandevelde is a question mark.
Garmin loses its leaders already... Bad day |

I don't care if he was 100% or 99% responsible, I was just joking.
But it's still funny how you Brits rabidly defend Cavendish.

Oh well, that's really bad luck. Farrar looked pretty strong yesterday.

Seems like Vandevelde is the most unluckiest rider in the peltoton he crashes in GTs nearly every year and always loses much time...
Team Europcar !!
RIP Wouter

Umm, i'm defending him
1) Because no body else does, everyone seems to critise him
2) Because on this case i'm right, you just need to watch the video footage to see that. I've always said if the "blame" has to go anywhere on that crash it should be 75% Cavendish, 25% Haussler. But anyway, that discussion is not for here, go ressurect the tour de suisse topic.

Doddy says: Tommorrow, Cavendish out of green race? HA!
Assuming that Hushovd would have done well today, and assuming that he will do better than Cavendish tomorrow, he would had the 26 points from yesterday, 15-20 points from today, and another 10-20 points tomorrow. That would have been an advantage of 50-70 points to Cavendish. I can't see hovw Cavendish should have taken that back.
I'm not ruling Cavendish out for tomorrow, he will have a whole team that will try to place him well, still I rate Hushovd better for tomorrows stage, and I think he will gain 10-20 points to Cavendish.
So yes, I think Cavendish would have been out of the green jersey contest if Hushovd had gained points today..
Luckily he isn't, and hopefully it's going to be a great fight between him, Hushovd, Ciolek, and hopefully Petacchi

You've just changed your point
You said after tomorrow. I said to SN during the stage that Cavendish was out of green jersey race today. As the points were frozen, that is no longer the case.
