By the way you can still vote until tomorrow!Who is your Columbia rider of March?
Monfort,Cavendish or Martin

Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco

Stage 1 : Ataun - Ataun

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/1-65.jpg
The first stage is very hilly and so we´re expecting a hard fight for the KoM points there! Our plan is to send Peter Velits in the break for improving his shape and maybe he can get some points there for the mountain jersey!Albasini and Rogers want to shine in the end of the stage.Especially Albasini will try something there!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/2-44.jpg
It was a perfect show by Peter Velits. With an amazing solo ride he could 16 KoM points and so he´s wearing the jersey tomorrow

As I already said the game crashed again in the end. With only 12 kilometres to go there were some attacks by Cunego,Lövkvist,Gilbert,Rodriguez and Albasini. He had a great day form and so he could follow them.In the end it came to a sprint but Albasini had tired legs and so he had no big chance for the stage win.He took the 5th place with 15 seconds behind the stage winner Gilbert who won the sprint against Cunego,Lövkvist and Rodriguez

Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco

Stage 2 : Ataun - Villatuerta

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/1-66.jpg
The second stage is another hilly one!We hope that Velits can get in the breakaway today to get some more points for his jersey. In the end we should expect a sprint except some riders will try something

It was a great stage for our team.First of all Peter Velits could get into the break. There he could get another 21 points for the KoM comepetition. In the end when all escapes were caught Michael Rogers tried to get a small gap to the pack and it works! When the sprint begins his arrears was about 15 seconds but then the "better sprinters"came fast such as Rodriguez,Cunego and Albasini. With only 700 metres to go Rogers was only a few metres in front of Rodriguez but in a close finish he could defend his leading position!!Rogers won the stage in front of Rodriguez,Cunego and his team-mate Michael Albasini. It was an amazing stage for us everything worked fine today. The goals for the next stage should be the defending of Velits´mountain jersey and maybe Albasini and Rogers can keep their overall positions. (The game crashedGrin)

Stage 3 : Villatuerta - Eibar

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/1-67.jpg
After an amazing second day by Velits and Rogers we would love to continue like that.Today is again a hilly stage where Velits could get more points. In the end there is a hard climb where the favorites should try something for the overall.I think about Cunego,Rodriguez or Valverde when I talk about favorites. If Albasini and Michael Rogers can hang on there??That´s the question for today´s stage

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/2-46.jpg
First of all there were some escapes in the beginning.Sylvester Szmyd was there, too!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/3-45.jpg
But our team didn´t let them go.We kept the pace really high so that we could reach the break before the real KoM competitions began

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/4-45.jpg
With more than 50 kilometre to go they were brought back into the pack and Velits took the chance for an attack on one of the hardest climb of today´s stage

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/5-45.jpg
Yes our plan worked again!Velits took another 6 points on the top of the climb

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/6-43.jpg
Also on the next ascent he became third behind Barredo and Voigt that means he got 6 points more. After that he was back in the peloton.Good job by Velits!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/7-41.jpg
With only 10 kilometres to go Lövkvist and Voigt could get a little gap to the pack after they were fighting for some KoM points

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/8-36.jpg
Behind them Barredo started the first attack while Gilbert and Nibali went after him

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/9-25.jpg
Just a few moment later Rodriguez made his move;he seems to be in an amazing shape ´cause his results in the last stages were great!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/10-20.jpg
Seconds later,Albasini attacked with Rogers on the his backwheel. It´s a kind of competition in our team!Who´s gonna be the better one today?

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/11-15.jpg
With only 1000 metres to go after many downhill attacks by for example Valverde,Cunego and Pellizotti there was built a leading group with all these favorites I talked about.Valverde,Rodriguez,Cunego,Pellizotti and Nibali were in this group

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/12-11.jpg
Albasini was in the first chasing group just a few seconds behind them.Luis Leon Sanchez,Garate,Ivanov,Duran,Barredo and Popovych were in this group, too

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/13-8.jpg
While Michael Rogers was maybe 20 seconds behind his team-mate Albasini.Well,it wasn´t his best performance today

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/14-7.jpg
The sprint in the first group was close but in the end Rodriguez took the stage win and the leader´s jersey of Cunego.Valverde another Spaniard became third

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/15-3.jpg
Albasini came with the next group. He got the 8th place;Rogers is 16th in the end!

Scheldeprijs

Scheldeprijs is our next one-day classic on cobblestone! The race is another preparation for Eisel and Goss for Paris-Roubaix.Because of this we sent a strong cobblestone team to Belgium.Bernhard Eisel is our team-captain there!Matthew Goss and Lars Ytting Bak are the biggest help for him.We hope for a win there because the competition isn´t really challenging! There´s no Boonen,no Pozzato,no Cancellara! The biggest rival should be De Waele who is also with a strong team there! With the great help of his team-mates Eisel should be able to get at least a podium

Team Columbia for the Scheldeprijs
