I've seen Cube and Focus bikes.
Anyone have any experiences with these makes? |

Cube, never heard of. Focus have good reviews, and seem to be good value for money.

I have a Cube streamer 2007-edition. Also very value for money as many German bikes.
So I guess that also counts for their other models. |

I rode the TD Gran Fondo yesterday. Or well I more of less had to ride there as part of tdmagazine lol.
Damn Northern Holland sucks. (province Noord-Holland). We went from Alkmaar to Den Helder and back, through all kinds of villages, 100km long. And the wind there is killing. The first part was ok with tailwind. But then we made the turn in Den Helder and all we got was fierce headwind along the coast. The Dunes were not much protection at all
After I did the first 50k in 30km/h average, at the finish, the speed dropped fast...
At the final rest point before the finish, with 20k to go, I was already dead. The final 20 kilometers were really hard, I had not much left and the wind kept blowing hard. Still didnt drop completely and kept going around 25km/h. With 10k to go Thomas himself passed me and encouraged me, but I simply couldn't go faster
Final average 26,5km/h over 103 km. |

I won another road race today. lots of wind 25 MPH steady 40 MPH gusts (it was bad) a break of 3 (2 of my teamates) all3 from the category below me and they stayed away just barely. lost of rolling hills. going against the wind the average speed on the first half of the 46 mile loop was around 15 MPH but the speed over the second half was easily 25. On the flats with the wind I was spinning in my biggest gear. The group I finished in was the 3rd group on the road but none of the other 17-18's made the split so with the race locked up I rode to help my teamate who was in my group of 7. 1 mile to go I dropped back to give him my wheel, and at 1 k to go I bombed up to the front and hammered on an overpass doing 30 MPH. I did go a little early cause my teamate, who had just barely missed the second group of 3 with 1 of my teamates and 2 rider from davis BC, was pipped at the line sprinting for 7th in the 15-16 field. I crossed the line with my hands in the air like I just didn't care. Ibetter find a picture of it because I saw at lead 3 different cameramen at the finish.
Dan holloway raced wearing the Garmin Chipotle jersey. Eric Wohlberg was also there along with Rock riders I didn't recognize. Of course there were local and regional pros, enough to fill the field cap of 100.
It was a really fun race. when we were at a crawl in the headwind we were joking around and when we had a cross or tailwind it was balls to the wall. I got a t-shirt out of the deal.

hehe, there were eight days of riding, from Geneve to Nice. This was the hardest day. The hardest climbs were Grand Saint Bernhard, Petite Saint Bernhard, Col de l'Iseran, Col de Telegraphe, Col du Galibier, Col d'Izoard and Bonette.
We rode too hard all the days

Charity and fun, I think. Also to get away and find himself. He came back a better person. |
