Understandable that Kittel was PO'd, he squashed the others there! |

Stage 9
The Tour de Langkawi continues with a 146 kilometre long stage from Melaka to Nilai, with a mass sprint as the outcome. But before the final 10km starts, GC's number 2 José Serpa is one of the victims of a crah, loosing a few minutes and thus loosing his 2nd place in the GC.
We set up a great train, untill 5km before the finish, when the 14-man BOTD gets caught. Our first rider (who is also leading the peloton!) chooses the wrong side of the road and gets blocked by the BOTD.... Consequently, our main sprinter Marcel Kittel gets positioned that bad, he finishes only in 9th place (had to come back from 20 with 1500m to go).
The stage win goes to Mirco Lorenzetto for his new team Acqua et Sapone. Marco Frapporti (Colnago) takes 2nd and Samuel Dumoulin 3rd.

Stage 10
With the finish in the Malaysian capitol of Kuala Lumpur, the city where the Petronas Twin Towers are build, this stage is very important for our sponsor. But our sprint train is cracking today, so Marcel Kittel has to start his sprint too far behind Mirco Lorenzetto.Lorenzetto, who is perfectly set off by his final lead out Alessandro Petacchi (!), stays out of reach and disturbs our party with his 2nd stage win. Kittel takes a pretty disappointing 2nd, but wins the points jersey, as he beats Samuel Dumoulin.

Overall winner
Word from the DS
3 stage wins should give the team a great feeling, but still we feel that it should have been more. Especially the last 2 stages, where a sprint train that got out of the rails made us miss the win. With the bigger races against the world class sprinters as Farrar, Hagen and Cavendish, this should go way better!

Our team
The favourites
*** Tom Boonen (Katusha), Marcel Kittel, Alex Rasmussen (Nespresso).
** Kenny van Hummel (M&M's), Chris Sutton (Astana), Enrique Sanz (Movistar).
* Danilo Napolitano (D'Angelo), Denis Galimzyanov (Katusha), Greg Van Avermaet (Sony Ericsson).
Our goal
Marcel Kittel is one of the biggest favourites to wiin the GC, so we aim for the GC win and 2 stage wins.
Stage 1
The Tour of Qatar kicks off with an ultra short prologue of 2.5 kilometres in the Doha Cultural Village. Dutch Tom Dumoulin has set the best time so far (3'01), when Artem Ovechkin beats that time with 1 second. Ovechkin transferred from Katusha to it's Conti-team Itera with the job of being a mentor for the young Russians guns.
Surprisingly, Ovechkin's time lasts until all but one of the favourites have started. The last rider to set his time is Marcel Kittel and the German sprinter also finishes in 3'00! The jury has to look at the tenths of a second, and by that mall margin, Ovechkin wins the prologue with our guys in 2nd and 3rd.

Stage 2
The 2nd stage in the Tour of Qatar, from Dukhan to Al Khor Corniche is characterized by a strong winds and echelons. Our young team is too weak to bring our sprinter in a good position, so Marcel Kittel has to settle with the 7th place. The win goes to Tom Boonen, his first for his new Katusha team, in front of Andrea Guardini and CHris Sutton.

Word from the DS
The best 3 sprinters present in Qatar have divided the first 3 sprints, with Boonen being the most consistent one. It's clear that our train has some problems in bringing Kittel in a great position.
