He's a monster.
Contador... Tour... Sadly, we must enjoy the fight between the others.
EDIT: Cav in sprints, you get few races to watch...
Contador tour TT win was cosmetic mistake..Contador lost a much on every section..and took all that back and even a little more at the climb.
Still he is not even close to Cancellara in TT

great job by a german journal (i.e. it's online version), Der Spiegel, on the worlds itt:
Tony Martin sicherte sich den dritten Platz bei der Straßenrad-WM in der Schweiz - an Lokalmatador Fabian Contador kam er allerdings nicht vorbei
(Tony Martin secured the third place in the street-wc in switzerland - however, he couldn't pass local hero Fabian Contador.) |

This is not true. Contador won time on the flat sections as well. It was only in the final downhill to the finish that Cancellara won ridicolously lot time back...
On the climb AND the flat Contador won time on Cance that TT. |

Hmm, if I remember correctly Contador had a strong headwind that day. |

Wiggins says he considers Martin the silver medalist and that he's angry with Larsson for taking the slipstream advantage.
He also says he considered sitting up as he would have found it very difficult to accept a Bronze medal with the slipstream benefit.

Contador won time at the first check and lost time between the first and second. The won major time on the climb, and as with every time trial he does, faded badly at the end.

Contador rides fast at the start while Cance saves energy for the end, that's why Conta got advantage on the flat |

Perfect example indeed. If I recall correctly he was 1st at the 1st check, 2nd at the 2nd, 3rd at the 3rd and 4th by the end

How the hell did there get two riders from Saint Kitts and Nevis?
1. CANCELLARA Fabian 57'55"
64. POP Gabriel Sorin +12'55"
65. DOUGLAS Reggie +20'32"
66. WEEKES James +22'38"
They are the last two....the 64th rider is from Romania, I wanted to show how much they lost to last rider from 'normal' cycling country And...the really don't look like cyclists https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/...derid=6270 |

It's a good thing that they got to be in the WC. I suppose that it will mean a little boost to the antillean cycling. |

I'm never one of these guys who use to throw doping accusations all the way around. Not that a I think that cycling is clean, of course, but I prefer to focus on cycling itself. However, a lot of guys are stating that Cancellara is doping due to his huge advantage at today's TT. Not wanting to enter into an useless debate kind of "x is doped because he beated my favorite guy", or some nacionalist discussion, is there someone here who can do a calculation about Cancellaras performance and compare it to theoretical human limits?

It's almost impossible without having the data from his SRM, since unlike when climbing, the wind resistance is significantly different from rider to rider.

I was referring to Contador domination in Tour GC like Cav in sprints, Cance in TTs. In a TT like today Cance would put a minute to Contador. |

If my memory is corect it wasn't Contador that faded badly, it was Cancellara going insane fast on the downhill and the last flat kilometres (+ heavy headwind that appeared for the last 5-15 riders on the last flat part). Because Contador did nearly not loose any time on anyone else except of Cancellara that gained a huge amount of time on everyone.
But that's my memory
EDIT: And after searching a bit, I found this, which actually shows that Contador was fastest of the top 6 in the GC on both the downhill and the flat part. It also shows that it was only Cancellara that had an insane speed in the last 12.5 kilometres compared to the others.

It was pretty interesting to read.
