seems the bitching and snidy comments are still in evidence at astana judging by LA's last few comments on Twitter
"If Andreas finishes 4th in GC by less than 2' from 3rd, we know where he lost it. . ."
"Getting lots of question why AC attacked and dropped Kloden. I still haven't figured it out either. Oh well."

Contador said after the stage to danish TV, that he asked Klöden if he should attack, and Klöden said "go for it". Contador hadn't expected Klöden to crack though. He was very confused, he dind't know what to do he keept looking back to see where klöden was. This shows just how weak Contadors mentality is.

anyway, great stage today
He simply cracked, pretty obvious, he didn`t realised that real Tour started 3 days ago...
He gave in everything in first 2 weeks, I heard his dream was top 20 this year. Maybe he will do it in few years and with better team. |

my mentality would be weak too if i was clearly the srongest rider at the race but the team and management were more interested in LA. i bet he can't wait to get out of there. |

Not jsut that, he generely lack confidence, which resulted him in saying that Levi tried to steal his Vuelta win last year.

Oh my god!
Does AC have any brains?
Kloden has worked in front in mountains for him, but when its Klodis chance to go back on podium in Paris, Contador just droping him off...
Ahh......
Alberto is BIG TALENT, but he needs some cycling BRAINS! |

As I just said, Contador asked Klöden if he should attack, Klöden said yes, he knew he was on his limit and that he was gonna blow soon.

He asked Kloden if he could attack, Kloden said yes and Conta waited when he saw Kloden was dropped. |

Wait until Klöden tells his story. He clearly waved his head NO some time after Conta made a gesture meaning "Shall I attack?".

at the end of the day Kloden wasn't strong enough and got dropped. simple as.
was was AC supposed to do? sit with Kloden till the finish so he might finish 3rd overall?
it's a race. AC wants to win and that means going faster then everyone else over the mountains, including Kloden. |

But what AC would get with that attack?
Bigger gap from schelcks? Its big enough(knowing schelcks tt skills)
In my opinion, what Conta do is just helped schelcks ride from Klodi. |

Well he was so shocked when Kloden couldn't respond he stopped attacking and just sat on wheels. If kloden told him to attack he should have gone properly as opposed to stopping straight away.

After watching this stage again...if there was any strife on Astana, it is because AC thinks he is better than every one else (which he may be). Paris-Nice demonstrated that AC thinks he can ride away from everyone without his team, Lance for all of his cockiness, would let George, Heras, etc. to win stage, and use his team to it's fullest. This stage just showed again that AC thinks he is too good to be beat, which he has been in every GT since Tour '07, but you can reward your team by letting them win. |

Yeah Lance is a humble guy, no ego there.

Hmm read an article a while back and it was about USPS and on one day they had a guy in the break not in the Tour but some lowly training race and said rider was called back from the break to then help chase down the break. So I guess Lance did use his team to it's fullest.
