I think we will have an awesome Tour.
Armstrong, Contador,Evans,Schlecks,Sastre,Menchov,etc.
It will be a dream tour for me and i hope that Armstrong wins, with Andy and Cadel completing the podium |

No surprise there. It was between Breschel and Arvesen, and Breschel never really stood a chance. He just doesn't offer time trialling, climbing, experience, or the hard determined attitude of Arvesen that few riders can match.

Nor can he match Kurt-Asles ability to work 100% for the team... Matti had been a better choice if they wanted stage wins, but Riis wants the GC. |

The thing that made him even consider Breschel in front of Arvesen is the fact that he is Danish. OK, Breschel could be a very godd candidate for stage wins, but so is Arvesen in breakaways, and they also have several others for that.
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

So what did Nicki Sørensen do to deserve a spot? I want Matti in the Tour! |

After his brilliant showings in the April classics, Sörensen was pulled from the Giro squad so he could focus solely on the Tour.

Euskaltel has also chosen their nine riders Igor Antón, Mikel Astarloza, Koldo Fernández, Egoi MartÃnez, Juanio Oroz, Alan Pérez, Rubén Pérez, Amets Txurruka and Gorka Verdugo.
I think Igor Antón, Asterloza and MartÃnez will be those orange riders we will se in the mountains |

That's been clear for quite some time i think. He's aiming for the Vuelta this year, as noone else is...

Valverde is now, but hadn't planned it, had he?
All I've heard about Basso is that peoplethink he will do it, and Evans was completely new to me... But okay, you know more about this sport than me...

He had other aims (Tour of the Basque country, April classics), but they've passed already

He had, actually. He just didn't want to be in top form anywhere before the Tour so as to be tip-top in July.

He's the designated team leader. Szmyd will also be there to help him

This is so dissapointing. Matti deserved that Tour ahead of Larsson, N. Sørensen, O'Grady and Arvesen. If being in brilliant form and being a complete rider doesn't get you to the Tour, then what does? I mean why take both O'Grady and Arvesen, two very similar riders experience- and abilitywise, instead of taking a young eager rider like Breschel, who has shown way more strenght than both of those guys!
If he can't get some guarantee about next year's Tour, I hope he changes to another team. He is a class rider, and he belongs in Le Tour! Not the way to keep a big talent like Breschel in your team, Riis

Same with O'Grady. He didn't show anything last year either.
Experienced? Sure. But there's several other experienced riders on the team. |
