Stage 14
We had technical problem last night..tryed to play this stage with both (PC and Mac) and theyr both crashed several time's when I was trying to enter into 3d game..(sea..riders list)..exe. crash.
Then I tryed to simulate a stage..worked..non of favorites didnt get any advantage..breakaway group had won this stage with 12min. ..still they are fighting with places around 100..and sry. Bennati get few more points, but he had point jersey anyway (after that simulated stage everything worked fine again)..

Last stage
Lloret de Mar - Barcelona Tibidabo
Last stage..uphill last 10km. will give us stage winner..
..action!..Gerdemann was so close to take stage win in "queen stage"..today he launches atack just before final uphill..trying again solo..
Counter group..Gomes Marchante, Valjavec, Veloso and Roche..
..two more..guys who had always atacked together Cobo and Barredo
..and they take race lead and start to work together..
another wave..Dekker, Andy Schleck, Kreuziger (who is starting to look better and better on every stage)..and Marchante
Gomez Marchante taking a lead..Dekker, Andy and Kreuziger follows..
..but this isnt over..Euskaltel do not exept that they donr managed to get any basque team rider into leader group..they send Sanchez and Agirre.Cobo is leading that group..and he's "friend" Barredo follows again..
Hugh lead group is formed..
Dekker launching atack..Schleck follows..Kreuziger
Last km. we need to start looking winner at that trio..
This what I have been expected Kreuziger..he takes a lead..Dekker is to strong to beat? Schleck has been giving up..he knows that he has tour win already
..and line..close one. Great..
Kreuziger wins last stage in Catalunya..on he is now 10th. place on GC. Sad tour has ended fine for Liquigas.

Stage 15
Forli - Faenza
We have still real close situation after..14 stages.
De La Fuente crashes..
Caisse taking control..only climbers can follow..
Bennati should give up..
Di Luca opens the game with atack..
and well knowns guy's at the front again..Valverde, Menchov, Contador, Basso, Schleck..
Simoni cant follow..and looks like Cunego wont even trying to follow..
..in descent..Valverde at the front..and he is going real fast..real fast. He is trying to drop Schleck and Basso. Mostly Basso..this is "I want that pink jersey ride"..
Chasers group..Contador, Menchov, Di Luca
After that..Valverde starting to talk with fellow escapies.."Lets work together!"..at first with Basso.."No way even win bonus seconds will give you pink.."
..then with Schleck..doesnt work out eather..Valverde going to to front and start to pull hard again..this is another..I drop you attempt..
Chasers group..Di Luca is dissapeared..just Contador and Menchov
..close to final km..Valverde at the front..he looks so tyred..
Schleck atack..Basso follows. Valverde is out at the game..
This is still real close situation at the GC..Basso is trying to get any possible bonus seconds..He is trying to pass..Schleck..
..and he wins this "bigfoot type" sprinters battle..stage win nr. 3..and Schleck is now 3rd. in the GC

Stage 16
Pergola - Monte Petrano
Third week climbing stage...
Devolder at the front again alone..in breakaway..
2 mountain top to take..Simoni atacked..Cunego trying to follow..Menchov..
Di Luca and Basso follows..Basso looks real good today..he's goal is to get more time between Valverde and him
Hill top..Basso is with Menchov (who is getting in better shape in third week) and Di Luca.
Basso likes to go..come one lets go?
..now one dont like to follow..he is going alone..not with max..but fast enough to get main group in panic..
Last mountain has started..Contador takes a main group lead and starting to chase Basso
..and he is coming..alone..
Then third week new born Menchov chasing with Valverde and Cunego..at the same moment I get info. that points jersey holder Bennati has crashed in final descent..he can carry on ..but he is injured..damn!
and all together again..Basso..Schleck..Valverde..Di Luca..Contador..Menchov, Cunego. Basso decided to atack..
..and he is off, another short atack..only Contador and Schleck cant follow..Valverde, Cunego and Menchov in trouble..this is good sign.
..and they coming back again together..wow even Nibali is staring to come into this group..
,,and here he is with Karpets and two Caisse boys..Perreiro and Rodriquez..great ride Nibali
..Basso kick again..this time hard..all out
Valverde trying to counter..no way ..this is it..gap is growing..growing..
In final km. Basso but what he had left ..all out to gain more time..this can be Giro winner stage win..
Valverde is coming 2'18 later..mission done..Valverde is cracked..
..and yes Bennati is injured..he will start tomorrow..when it's bad he will step down..(today he lost point jersey again ..)

That was an awesome ride by Basso. That ride alone should secure him the Giro. That final death blow of an attack just crippled Alejandro. |

Stage 17
Chieti - Blockhaus
..short stage with long climb..
This is for Bennati..he crashed yesterday..today he started a race..when pace was low..everything was under control. When they speeding up..this was starting to hurt..pointless to keep pushing..Bennati has abandon the race..
Siotsou starting atack wave..
Saxo controlling the pack..Danielson atack..
Contador...
Lead group is formed..Di Luca, Basso, Karpets, Contador, Cunego..
Valverde..real strong atack..Menchov and Basso was trying to follow..
..Menchov and Basso had cought Valverde..
..and group back together..Contador at the front..and satrt to pull hard..
..and he is atacking again..
..and this is Basso in great shape..he is just riding that gap down..power show..
last km. and sprint..Contador is leading..Basso just follows..he doesnt even try to pass him..
..and Valverde with Cunego has cracked again..This is now on just downhill for Valverde..and that means Basso is almost there to be Giro winner again...
Second stage win for Contador..

Very unlucy with Bennati but Basso is totally dominating. You are lucky that Fränk is 3rd otherwise i would be a bit angry. But its not your fault its cyanides and their lousy AI.
And i really dislike climbers sprinting(and not badly) on flat stages, surely it cant be so hard to fix that.
