What do you think of Zabel?
I know that he isn´t the most liked rider
He was/is aggressive when other teams aren´t working like he imagined (Riders who were in a breakaway -> Zabel shouted sometimes at them , also when teams would like to make a group)
Ullrich said that he (Zabel) has two faces , infront of the medias and infront of people , also that he is a "Actor"
His press conference 2007 with Aldag wasn´t the best
1996 he doped for 1 week , but won the Green Jersey in series without doping , I think thats obvious
Also that he gone of T-Mobile because of he wasn´t nominated but he wasn´t good for a stage win anymore (2002 was good , 2003 he was often 2nd-5th , 2004 he was more often 4-10th..)
I think his doing infront of cameras isn´t what he is like in "real life"
To the World Cup :
I think Gilbert could have serious chances with Samuel Sanchez to take a win , the course seems to be a explosive course were you have to take a quick and fast attack to have a gap |

Millar will try something, but he will get caught like he does every year. he will try go off the front either 2 laps to go or 1 but will get caught on the climb. there are far too many Punchy riders for Millar to have a chance. the course is tailor made for hilly classics/hill climbers |

I doubt it. I'm still saying sprint.

I think a mass bunch finish is morealess impossible. No one with a decent chance at the title will want to sit in the bunch and wait for a mass bunch. They will wait for a small group to go away on the climb. I even think boonen will try to get away there. How ever if there are a few good sprinters into the group the punchy riders will try to clip them off the back. But its going to be very interesting indeed. |

surely Boonen won't attack. He's happy to wait till the finish and sprint. but i think that the group at the finish won't be bigger than 20. maybe 10-15

Belgium's working for Boonen, they've admitted as such. Spain for Freire. Bettini can attack all he wants, he won't get much help. It's him and Schleck.
Plus the course is almost dead flat. There's one decent climb and it's kms from the finish.

Hmm yeah, i suppose after the climb there is always a chance for the group to bring it back. But if all the main teams are in a break who will be left to chase? I also think that there may be a surprise from the Spanish team, everyone will be marking Friere giving a good opurtunity for someone else to get away. |

Valverde and Sánchez are designated to go with breaks and not work so that the break can be brought back for Freire to win.

I wonder how possible it is for those two to disobey orders. Put it this way. They are on the same team. Is there much more to say? Im not sure how well the Spanish team gel together. In the Olympics they seemed to work together very well. Will it be different here? |

I think there is a relatively big chance of a "bunch" sprint. The pack that was left with the U23 riders was quite big, although they didnt catch the break.
I think that if Belgium and Spain ride for their sprinter, which wouldnt be a suprize, they should be able to real in any attacks. both teams have strong riders to do some chasing in the final lap.
this could well turn out the same way Salzburg did. only a smaller pack. |

You cant really compare the u23 and Elite though.
the u23 was without radio, and the elite has radio. The race changes a lot with radio.
The pace has really kicked up now though. Italy really pushing it. If there is a mistake there will be a nasty split in the bunch.
Cummings has also dropped off. :/ |
