Go into "Run..." and type in dxdiag, then go to the graphics/display tab.

I'm pretty sure it won't do at all. However, you can download the demo and try it out. |

Demo works, graphics are ok.....It is just slow Spotty on clear racing.
But I did manage to take 3rd with Sammie Sanchez
Any way to boost the gameplay performance with what I have? |

There's a few downloads out there which make the graphics look worse, but on the contrary also make the game run faster, e.g. the so-called Performance Mod. It should also work for the demo, so you could try and apply it and see if it has any impact on your computer. |

So if I did decide to chance the game, could I just set the graphics all the way down and download the download suggested, would it help do you think!
Thanks Gents ! |

Hi!
I have a few problems with running PCM. If I turn the graphics to the max, PCM crashes in about every stage/race. But if I turn the graphics down, it runs ine. There shouldn't be any problems with my specs:
E8400
4 GB RAM
8800GT
I run Vista x64, could that be the source? |

chrica04: As said, the downloads I'm talking about can also be applied on the demo, so before buying it, I'd suggest trying to download and install the performance updates. If it doesn't help, it won't help on the full version either.
kissaha: You never know with this game. Even with perfect specs, it might run bad - it's all about what it's optimised for. |

Despite ATI > Nvidia, the first PC is better. why? the 9500 is better than the 3430, and the fact that it has less RAM shouldn't be a problem
Last several years, I'm not sure. neither of these will last much if you want top graphics. If you just want it to be able to run the games with minimum graphics, then yes, it'll do for several years
That's my opinion, but I don't know about the boards, so I can't give you a definite answer. Hopefully someone who is a hardware buff (which I am extremely far from being) will give you some help

I have no idea why you think that is relevant to the case, but welcome

The processor is fine, but the graphic card is bad, and you don't have enough RAM. But try running the demo and see how it works. |

This is an old thread, but I thought I would revive it as PCM08 is the only PCM I have which might run on my laptop. The main question is the graphics card, mine is an Intel GMA 4500M, will that work or not? It has the required memory, etc but I'm not sure and Can You Run It has no answers. Any help would be appreciated. |

I think that's the graphic card my old laptop (it died earlier this year) had, and I could play up to PCM11 (with crappy graphics) with it, so I'd say yeah.

Thanks, I normally just Sim anyway because of lack of time, so I may have a go. |
