Tour of Pendie
Really, the entire point of entering this race was to let Mark Cavendish bask in the glory of his british championship wins. We wanted a sprint finish for Mark and worked hard for it.
And Mark came through, though he had to work to get by Amorison.
Didn't have the British Championship jersey in game at this point. Sorry about that folks.

Eneco Tour - Stage 1
This race is our last big effort before the Vuelta... and the Deutchland Tour which is a sponsor goal. Hincapie really wanted to compete here so we gave him the nod as team leader.
Leader: George Hincapie
Sprinter: Bernhard Eisel, Mark Cavendish
Free: Linus Gerdeman
Teammate: Marco Pinotti, Bradley Wiggins, Andreas Klier, Vicente Reynes
Stage 1 is a short 7km Prologue. We though Wiggins might take it for a while, but Hushovd took it.

Eneco Tour - Stage 2
This stage had some bad weather to go along with hilly terrain. We're going to try to keep Big George as high up in the standings as possible, but we have t be ready to switch to Linus if things go wrong.
There were a lot of crashes today, but we managed to keep clear. Gianni Meersman led an attack a good ways from the finish that several riders tried to follow, but couldn't. Meersman kept a gap at around a minute.
Just before the finnish Luis Pasamontes led an attack and again few could follow. He was able to bridge to Meersman.
And Meersman leads the two across the line, with a 30 second gap on the pelaton.

Eneco Tour - Stage 3
Probably a sprint stage... but there's an interesting set of three hills with a cobbled section in the center about half way through the race.
And it turned out that section would be key... right at the beginning of the section the pace of the pelaton picked up. And it stayed fairly high. Riders were dropping off the back right and left as the cobbled specialists didn't allow the others to recover. High Road's only rider able to handle it was Hincapie.
In the end, it looked like a cobbled finish at the front you had Gilbert and Cancellera, followed closely by Hincapie, Hoste, Van Summeren and Nuyens with Boonen trailing off the back.
As they neared the finish, Gilbert and Cancellera were able to widen their lead. Hincapie tried to bridge several times, but he just didn't have the strength. Gilbert just edges Cancellera in the sprint.
Big George doesn't have the legs in the sprint, and Boonen manages to storm forward from his trailing position to take 4th, just behind Hoste.
Today's stage really defined the overall. There's not only about 15 riders with any chance anymore... and George is the only High Roader in the mix.

Eneco Tour - Stage 4
The first of a series of sprinter stages. The weather is horrible though, which could play a role.
And it did. Crashes were abundant, and we were unfortunately involved. First Eisel went down, taking one of our sprinters out.
Then Wiggins crashed, taking out our planned front man in the leadout.
Both injuries were also more than superficial. It's unclear how helpful they'll be the next few days either.

Eneco Tour - Stage 5
Another pancake flat sprint stage. Eisel and Wiggins will just be hanging out the back recovering from their crashes today, so it will all be on Cav's shoulders.
And of course that was the kiss of death. In another downpour, Cav's wheel comes out from under him and he crashes down. Thankfully, he's not hurt too bad... but he's out of this stage.
Another crash occurs that thankfully didn't involve a High Road rider but does affect the race. Fabian Cancellera goes down, along with yesterday's winner Robbie Hunter.
Then another huge crash occurs. Almost all the top sprinters are involved including Boonen and Hushovd.
Pozzato ends up winning the stage... in a mass sprint oddly lacking in sprinters.
Cancellera had to withdraw from the race due to the injuries he suffered. This moves George up a spot in the GC.

Eneco Tour - Stage 6
Another sprint stage. Eisel and Wiggins are still hurting so it will be up to Cav.

GP Ouest France - Plouay
Quite frankly... we don't have a rider ready who can really do well here. Kirchen would... but he's off until Deutchland. So we put a team here with some decent hilly riders in below average form, and some lesser hill riders in good form.
Leader: Thomas Lovkvist
Sprinter: Edvald Boassen Hagen
Teammates: Taylor Phinney, Michael Barry, Servais Knaven, Tony Martin, Craig Lewis, Fabio Duarte.
And in the end, the best rider we had was.... Taylor Phinney?
Taylor put up a great ride and took 11th place, just missing some pro-tour points. Taylor has really progressed this season.
Andrea Moletta won the stage from a 6 man group that succeeded in a late attack.

Eneco Tour - Stage 6
The hills in this stage are short, but plentiful, but in ends in a velodrome. We'll be putting the whole team behind Hincapie.

Eneco Tour - Stage 8
The final timetrial was in horrible conditions, seemingly the norm for this tour. Hincapie was hoping to move up a bit in the time trials.
And it turned out... he moved up WAY more than a bit. We thought for a while he had won it one second ahead of Hoste... but it turned out Devolder had come from well back to take the race by six seconds over George. Still, a fantastic result.
I forgot to export, but here are the results of the final stage and final GC.

Deutschland Tour - Stage 1
Our sponsors expect a top 5 result in this race, so we can't take it too lightly. Kirchen is in fairly solid shape so he'll be our leader, backed up by George Hincapie. Big George was a little upset at having to miss the US national championships... but he understands the team's need and he's going to put in a solid effort.
Leader: Kim Kirchen
Free: George Hincapie
Sprinter: Gerald Ciolek
Teammates: Bert Grabsch, John Devine, Craig Lewis, Fabio Duarte, Tony Martin
Todays stage is a sprinter stage. The bad weather could make things treacherous.
Tony Martin went on the break and picked up the mountains jersey today. The break was easily reeled in though.
And then there were crashes. Ciolek got knocked off his bike toward the end in a wreck that also took out some big names in Gomez Marchante, Levi Leipheimer, Roman Kreuziger, Frank Schleck, and Andreas Kloden.
In the sprint that followed, Olaf Pollack outsprinted the likes of Oscar Friere and Erik Zabel. Kirchen finished 10th.
Results:
1 Olaf Pollack Team Volksbank 4h43'21

US Championships - Time Trial
With Hincapie and Devine in Germany, Taylor Phinney will be our lone representitive in the US championships. In retrospect, that was poor planning on our part (I actually wasn't paying attention).
Taylor did us proud though. While he didn't win (that would have been truly incredible) the youngster did take 3rd, which nobody would have expected coming into the season. Tom Danielson won the race.

The tour of Spain, the last grand tour of the season. Linus Gerdeman will be leading our squad and he's based his entire season around this race. He didn't even race until August (with the exception of the German championships) in order to be fresh here. His form is coming along perfectly after the Eneco tour, so we expect a great result.
The rest of our team however.... well let's just say Linus isn't going to get a lot of help in the mountains. With the number of race days our better climbers have already put in though it just wasn't reasonable. We do have a good sprint team present, led by Bernard Eisel and we expect some sprint stage wins.
The team:
Leader: Linus Gerdeman
Sprinter: Bernard Eisel
Free: Vicente Reynes
Teammate: Marco Pinotti, Andreas Klier, Bradley Wiggins, Michael Barry, Servais Knaven, Andre Greipel
The first stage is a 10 kilometer team time trial. Wiggins, Pinotti and Gerdeman will have to provide the bulk of the pull on this as the rest of the team is average in the TT's at best.
In the end that strategy worked pretty well. High Road took second, behind Euskaltel - Euskadi. Below is a list of the teams and their first rider across the line.

1 Igor Antón Euskaltel - Euskadi 12'02

USA Championships
A flat course, it will probably come down to a sprint. Phinney won't have much of a chance in that scenario so he'll try to get away on a late punch attempt... even with no hills.
Phinney went with 10 km to go, but never got that much spacing. Fred Rodriguez won the sprint, and Taylor had enough in the tank to finish 10th.
