BIG crash. only the sprinters went through
Cancellara also crashed. so did everyone else. this will be easy for Boonen. not many people made it through...but his whole team made it!!

Boonen wins from Steegmans. second time this season that Steegmans has to brake to avoid winning...
Hope no one is injured from the crash.....Vino goes past the line, looks back at those who crashed (he also did) and makes the christian symbol for the cross. there's something I never thought I'd see from him...
EDIT: Steegmans braked but still was marginally in front. he's the winner!
so... in my opinion the most underrated of sprinters wins.
and for the third day in a row, 5th placed is a guy that I took of my GT team at the last minute

lots of injuries and illnesses as usual. right now it's Schumacher, Freire and McEwen.
about the sprint: I remember back in march at the Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne Steegmans had to stop pedalling 100m from the line so that Boonen would overtake him and win... |

Stupid Zabel - he stick his leg out causing Quinziato to crash. No surprise that it had to bew Cavendish to fall next.

It's just not been Cavnedish's tour had it - I don't think we'll see much more from him, mentally I think he's devastated.
And yes, how stupid was Zabel, and he wasn't even nice enough to fall over in the crash he started. Outrageous
Boonen was fairly useless as well, not being able to get pass your lead out man who is easing up

Steegmans was definitely faster than Boonen yesterday. No doubt about it. He should consider moving team -- he'd be damn good on his own.
About Zabel, I don't think it was him who caused the crash. Yes, it was a Milram-rider, but it's more likely that it was Ongorato (or whatever he's called). If Zabel were in any way involved in the crash he wouldn't have been able to start in Boonen's wheel when the sprint was launched. |

cyclingnews says Zabel touched Boonen's wheel which made them both wobble but still stay up. they also say that scared a liquigas rider who swerved on instinct and hit a bunch of riders, causing the crash. |

Boonen: "the reason we did that was because Gert has a problem with his head: if we tell him we're going to do the sprint for him, he'll come 30th. so we didn't tell him what we were doing"
Lefévère (Quick.Step manager): "I guess Tom just couldn't come around Gert, which is understandable in an uphill sprint."
it's not like those quotes are contradictory or anything...(sarcasm) |

maybe the team was fooling Gert and Patrick Lefevre?

If Lefévère wasn't joking, Boonen is going to be an angry man
Which he probably is already after yesterday, but it's his own fault - he just counldn't get around Gert
