Knockout: Have you broken 10 mirrors, because your luck here with the team has been terrible.
Two exciting mountain stages may be up tomorrow, including a mountain TT and the incredibly steep Mount Washington. The GC men will fight it out. |

Despite Serpa's little cameo appearance, I feel like Cartoon Network are not even racing anymore.

ok Tschopp, how do I make this clear to you?
A) When the road starts to rise, you're supposed to attack
B) Just attack you moron!
C) Should A) and B) for whatever reason be impossible, focus on Szmyd. He's the guy with the red jersey and the funny accent. Just follow him!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

No 7up rider in the break? Was the AI broken on that stage? It's been ages since that happened.

Well don't bother, I explained it to my team for the cobble sections and they even didn't bother to attack once
At least you pick the right guy

Back to talent no. 1 I guess. Miss the winning break and (in this case almost) be first of the pack

STAGE 21: North Conway - Mount Washington 207 KM
Stage Favourites:
*****Atapuma(SAH) ****Szmyd(IBA) ***Serpa(CAR)
**Clarke(BLU) *De Weert(SWI)
The Galactic stage of this TOTC. We end on the fabled Mount Washington. (11KM - 11%) One of the most spectacular mountain stages you could wish for.
The break establish in the wooded forests.
9 men make the break today, they are: Louder, Champion, Ciolek, Vogondy, Pereyra, Mate, Aldape, Wurf and vandeWalle.
The Jersey changes hands.
Champion (Alcyon) will move into the, temporary, KOM lead. He claims max 10 KOM points at Kancamagus highway and 6 KM points at Lost River road, both uncontested. He was now on 46 KOM points.
One of the highlights of Alcyon's tour.
Seatbelts on. We hit Mount Washington.
With 11 KM to go the break hit the start of the Mount Washington climb with 8'50 over the peloton. This gap would have been larger if Aer Lingus and Bluebell Creameries didn't start to chase more emphatically with 40 KM to go.
Just before the final climb started Vogondy, Louder and Champion attacked the break, but they are back to together now. van de Walle is the first to be dropped. It may be a good advantage but the break really needed something closer to 20'00 to hold on for the stage win.
Serpa leads the peloton!
As soon as the peloton hit the final climb three riders attack. They are Serpa, Di Gregorio and Cattaneo (whit jersey). The attacks looked good but did not last.
Out front Pereyra is starting to distance the rest of the break, but they are all suffering.
Tschopp attacks!
The Swiss Cheese attacks from a long long way out. 8 KM OUT! It looks like an all or nothing move! Serpa tries to go with him....
Serpa can't go with him! Tschopp continues on, the gap to the break plummeting metre by metre. Szmyd leads the GC group in chase.
6 KM to go.
van de Walle has hit a wall. A high one! The Cartoon Network rider is already caught and passed by Tschopp with the favourites around '30 behind. The favourites are taking turns at the front but are not making any ground up on Tschopp. The favourites group is around 12 riders.
Cummings is the first to go!
Cummings (3rd) can't follow the pace of the favourites. Good news for Clarke(4th) with around 5 KM to go. Cummings is not the only rider from the top 10 dropped. Geschke is even further back.
Szmyd finally attacks!
With 5 KM to go and Tschopp around 1'00 ahead Szmyd attacks. The other favourites ... can't go with the red jersey. Everyone expects Szmyd to eat into the time of Tschopp .... but he doesn't! The gap holds at around the 1'00 mark as Tschopp almost catches the last of the break.
Under 3 KM to go.
Tschopp has caught Pereyra and now leads the race. The toughest part of the climb is now here with fans covering the mountain sides. Szmyd .... is starting to lose a second here and a second there....
The fans swamp the riders!
Szmyd vs Tschopp
This is for the GC. Tschopp looks strong and .... he continues to put time into Szmyd on the unrelenting mountain. Tschopp now leads by over 1'20 on the stage. The stage win is in the bag, but how much time will Tschopp put into Szmyd?
The fight for third.
Paulinho and De Weert are looking at their peaks for the first time in this tour, putting in multiple attacks to try and distance the other favourites. Serpa, Clarke and Sella are not too far behind with Garate and Di Gregorio a bit further off.
Tschopp Delivers!
Aer Lingus take their first win with an epic display from the most expensive rider in the tour. Tschopp puts in 1'53 to Szmyd + time bonuses!
Szmyd comes home second and retains the red jersey. But the fight for the red is certainly not over after today.
De Weert takes 3rd and consolidates his 5th place by putting in a few seconds into Paulinho who rode well for fourth on the day. Cummings loses his spot on the podium and Serpa is breathing down the neck of those above him for a 10th place in GC.

Cattaneo has done as proud, 11th in GC and penultimate in the rankings. |

Hmm, big time gaps, bigger than hoped.
Going to be closer than I hoped, I think.
No TTs except a MTT left, right?

Officially there are two mountain stages left. The next one (which is a short mountain TT and the penultimate stage, which has multiple mountains and a mountain top finish.) HERE

Well ....... that statement proves you haven't! Also if you were reading reports you would have known Cattaneo has been leading that classification for about 14 stages ........ So FYI it is nothing new ........ I also posted the report at 13:56 and you replied like 3 mins later
(This is a community story, so if you would prefer I could just post the results with none of this mumbo jumbo report stuff)
After wins for Bikex and Ollfardh very few times are yet to pick up a stage win.
(Iberia, Semen Indonesia, Nepresso, Alcyon, Celesio and Koenigsegg are the only ones) |

No offense, but that's a load of rubbish.
I have checked through again, since stage 7.
My team was mentioned 4 times, most of them Chernetskiy, who was in the white jersey.
You have not posted white jersey results, or made mention of the leader, since stage 9.
I don't think Cattaneo has even been mentioned, in the whole thing.
I tend to skim through reports, then post, then read through more thoroughly, it barely takes 3 minutes to read it thoroughly anyway, at least for me.
So, I haven't 'missed' anything, and even if I had, that does not prove I didn't read. I forget things that happen in my own story, if I played the stage 5 minutes ago, so in someone else's story I think it is unrealistic to think I am some sort of encyclopedia of TOTC results from 14 stages ago! |

Yeah, Iberia should really have picked up a win. They did have a lot of good placings though.
And guys, no need for this. Even if Hobbit didn't read all, it's his own choice
Let's just all be friends
