Our Eurosport is Dutch and they say quite a lot about Belgian riders.
And De Gendt and Vansummeren have some fans in the Netherlands, didn't know about Meersman though. |

From another site... the top times of the last climb.
1. Evans 6m55
2. Wiggins 7m00
3. Nibali 7m03
4. Scarponi 7m04
5. Gesink 7m13
6. Henao 7m15
7. Kelderman 7m18
8. Kangert 7m21
9. Clement 7m22
9. Boaro 7m22
...
Dowsett 7m49
Looks to me it will be an exciting Giro!
It doesn't mean Evans is better climber than Wiggins or Nibali OR Wiggins is better climber than Nibali or Scarponi. It's only indicator of how good they measured their efforts over last 3kms. |

Damn it, didn't catch any of this live. I was not expecting to see the first 2min gap appear only to the 15th placed rider. Must have been an odd profile. What went wrong with Intxausti after all? Surely he would have done better under normal circunstances. |

Kelderman tweets that he fell in the first kms of the TT
He's infected by the Blanco virus
On the other hand, it explains why Henao got to Kelderman so fast

Now with Thijs Zonneveld present as a Eurosport commentator, the level of their reports have increased a lot. This guy knows what he's talking about and notices a lot of action in the race.

Jippiii!!! Great ride from Kangert
Surprisingly one of the top favourites is slowly becoming the biggest flop. I would be angry if Froome won't be leading Sky in the Tour. There's no way Wiggins could beat Contador (should he be in form) this year.
Feel sorry for Scarponi's crash earlier. He would have been in great position after today's effort. |

2nd part of the ITT
kangert 37:02 1:19:20 => 32:18
wiggins 37:12 1:09:37 => 32:25
henao 36:47 1:10:05 => 33:18
kelderman 37:45 1:11:06 => 33:21
scarponi 36:50 1:10:16 => 33:26
evans 36:42 1:10:11 => 33:29
nibali 36:12 1:09:45 => 33:33
gesink 37:01 1:10:36 => 33:35
uran 37:02 1:10:37 => 33:35
sanchez 38:19 1:12:28 => 34:09
pozzovivo 37:51 1:12:00 => 34:09
hesjedal 37:03 1:11:22 => 34:19
santambrogio 38:04 1:13:23 => 35:19
so basically Nibali's moral win is based on the technical 1st part. In the 2nd part he's pretty much same as all other contenders |

Nibali said so himself, the first part was a gift for him. I think he won't give up more than a minute in the mountains, though, so for Wiggins it'll be hard.
Hesjedal actually biggest bad surprise of the day |

Quite demanding last 30 km tomorrow. With the rest day coming on Monday it will be interesting to see if any of the GC favorites will give it a go. |

Last year's Giro love story...and now apparently there's a Giro Chess Story.
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Had a bit of time to reflect. First off great TT stage - techinal then power then a climb jammed into 50km.
Splits seemed to be set up well for those sections but then not taken full advantage of by some sketchy TV production with an especial lack of information - shame but still really enjoyed it.
Thing that strikes me most is that even if everything in the race had gone according to plan for Wiggins (yes pie in the sky what if's )...
-no time loss to crash/sloppy stage finish
-better weather, not dropping then crashing yesterday
-having more confidence minus yesterday's crash for the technical downhill at the start of the TT
...I still couldn't see him being far ahead of Nibali who was immense today. So fast through the technical section then rock solid for the 2nd half.
The good news is that a lot of top riders are clearly in good shape and we can look forward to some good times in the stages ahead.

Kinda of curious to see if Nibbles can keep up with this shape for 3 weeks.

Yes but surely he's proved that a few times by now? |

To see if he keeps in top shape, top shape he's bringing since Tirreno. |

Ah right, fair enough. Great to see riders such as Nibali, Evans (2011) and Wiggins doing it throughout the year and a move away from lets peak for 3 weeks of year and sod the rest of the calendar. |

Any predictions for tomorrow? Despite it's very "breakawawayish" look, it's actually a pretty darn hard stage. Someone from a break should take the win, but I wouldn't rule out some GC attacks, tbh. Maybe not Nibali, but possibly someone like Scarponi or Santambrogio. Hesjedal might be interested in gaining back some time as well.
With Monday being a rest day, we can always hope that they'll be slightly less conservative than usual.
Anyway, these are the two final climbs:
Vetta le Croci looks brutal. Damage can be done there for sure, though 25 km from the finish might be a little too far out for someone to stretch the legs.

I am sure Weening had this stage somewhere in mind. Killer will attack too.
I am hoping Brailsford is going stay true to his words of being aggressive and plan attack with either Henao or Uran on one of those climbs.
