The 25 seconds was for a "drive through" which should have been done during that race, but it didn't say anything about on the screen, and a drive through doesn't cost you 25 seconds, and definetely not in rain, when everybody in on slick tyres.

It's the standard procedure to give a 25 sec penalty if you are handed a drive through after the race. And of course it doesn’t matter what happened to Kimi later on. |

The ironic thing is I'm not particularly a Hamilton fan! If anything I've supported Ferrari throughtout the years. However the decision yesterday was daft.
It's fine to take the approach that "Rules are rules" but that leads down a very dark and dangerous path. The stewards seem to have taken one part of the incident and not looked at it in the context of the whole race (and professional motor sports in general).
More importantly though, no matter what the outcome is, it makes the sport look foolish. The sport has done enough over the past few years to damage its own reputation without adding to it (the similarities to cycling are frightning in this respect).
I wonder how Massa is feeling at the moment? Sure he's now only 2 points behind, but if he wins the championship by less than 4 points then the victory must be a little shallow.
Nobody is normal

Massa's motor has been confiscated by FIA and will be subject to examinations which will determine if they (Ferrari) have changed anything which they were not allowed to. |

I guess I should not have said anything, or at least knocked off first. |

Back to the stuff at Spa, as I've finally seen it.

Correct. Not 25. A drive through costs you from 45 to 55 seconds depending on the length of the pit lane at a particular track. Hamilton got off easy.
As a former youth kart driver, it was painfully clear to me, crystal clear, that Hamilton gained from what he did and he deserved a penalty.
But now I'll leave you with the comments from drivers at the press conference yesterday:
Q: (Ian Parkes - The Press Association) Felipe, Lewis has just remarked at his McLaren press conference that despite what happened and the penalty in Spa, that he's coming here on a high, he feels like he's coming here as a race winner. I'm just wondering if, from your perspective, do you feel the same thing, that you're coming here as a race winner, even though the win was effectively handed to you by the stewards?
Massa: To be honest, I've given my ideas on this many times about what happened. What's happened is that he took an advantage by cutting the chicane. You can ask other drivers how many overtaking manoeuvres you see there: no overtaking. Going from the last corner to the first corner is such a small straight, so he took an advantage, that's clear, that's my opinion, so it doesn't change.
Q: (Dan Knutson - National Speed Sport News) Could I ask the other four drivers what they thought about that incident and Kimi, and as a follow-up, do you think you and other drivers might be afraid to fight for a position now that you might get a penalty?
Fisichella: I have just seen pictures, so it is difficult for me to say whether what happened was right or not. For sure, maybe, he took a small advantage, that's why he had the possibility, as Felipe said, to overtake him again in braking for turn one.
(...)
Bourdais: Yes, I think the rules are very clear. Maybe the penalty was a bit hard, but I think he's made the same mistake twice: he's done it in Magny-Cours and he's done it again in Spa. I don't really understand why there's been such a mess around it. There's a rule book and everybody has to obey the same thing.
Rosberg: Yeah, I definitely agree, because he did get an advantage, because he wouldn't have been that close behind Kimi had he not cut the chicane.
(...)
Trulli: Well, I agree completely with my colleagues (...) it was very clear that he got an advantage out of it, so that's where it is. The rules are very clear. If you cut the chicane and you get an advantage, you just have to drop back and give back the position and in Lewis's case he shouldn't have attacked straight away at the next corner; that was it.

What a brilliant lap of Vettel , amazing
But thats crap for him , maybe he is changing to a car thats worse than his car at the moment XD
Vettel had a Topspeed of 312 km/h (no idea whats that in mph), Massa for example had only 306 as Topspeed
He drived very smooth like you should do it in the rain , Bourdais for example spun but 4th
As a Williams Fan I say : Rosberg 5th , what must happen that a Williams will be first? A hurricane over the track and only Nakajima driving? |

Where did you get thoose 45-55 seconds from? Normally it's said that you lose 20-25 seconds on a pitstop! then how do you get extra 20-30 seconds, when it's a drive through!

Whoever told you that is an idiot. Next time you watch a race, time it, and bear in mind Monza has a short and straight pitland, the one where you lose the least time (Magny-Cours excepted), and you'll notice how they'll lose a lot more

I remember last season Schumi raced, he many times builed up a 25 second (or more) lead or so before the pit-stop, and when he came out again he was still in the lead. They definetely don't use 50secnods on a pit-stop.

38 seconds for Hamilton's very short first stop on Spa's very short and straight pitlane...
