Happy with the outcome of the NC's...
Well, prefered Kelderman as NL TT, but that's just me
Fothen was in a great form I guess, beating Martin

Tour of Austria :: Stage 1
Hello everybody!
I feel like a rider reborn. I woke up this morning, just as excited as the very first time I raced in my life. It's an amazing feeling. I've done some alternative training lately and I feel much more explosive.
Some hills. Not my ideal profile. But I should finish in the peloton for sure!
The first kilometers of my new life! I'm enjoying every moment here!
A little over 50 km to the finish, I even try a little something, a breakaway!
I got reeled back in all right. I admit, it was kinda out of there, but I felt like doing it! I managed to hang on to the peloton, barely.
Huzarski won the sprint, but only because new Colombian Champion Betancourt was held back in the final 100m
Well, nothing really to say for me. I'm happy to be racing again, with Willy. I felt fit all race long but the last ascent was too much. Anyway, there'll be sprint stages for me! Just building up a shape!

It's good to see them back on a bike
More news bring it on

News Update
Hey, check this:
Wouters cleared of all charges
Willy Wouters, a Lotto Belisol rider, has been cleared by the UCI Committee of Illegal Activities. Wouters was under investigation due to a mistake over the whereabouts system. Investigation proves that the mistake was made not by the rider, but by the UCI. The organisation made a public statement and a public apology to Wouters.
Meanwhile, Wouters has been inactive for two months and is recently returned to the peloton in Austria. A reaction over the phone: "Of course I'm happy. Finally my name is cleared. I'm part of the new doping-free generation. It's been a hard couple of months but I reckon this is a new start. Everybody knows I didn't do anything wrong and I can start my career again."
However, some damage has been done. "Lotto Belisol made some big mistakes and turned its back on my client. That's unseen and was like a big slap on the face for my client and myself. We hope they will offer their apologies as well", declared Wouter's lawyer and legal counselor F. Pieters earlier. Only hours later, a public statement from Lotto expressed their deepest regret about the unfortunate decision. We turned to Wouters' team mate Willems for more an opinion: "The team management made a mistake, surely. Though we, his team mates, never turned our backs on him. He's still very welcome in the group, but I will understand completely if he'll break his contract at the end of the season." Lotto Belisol has offer Wouters a place in the Vuelta as a compromise. It's uncertain whether Wouters will accept it. Rumor in the pack is that Wouters is looking for a new team.
All I can say is: good! Finally I can move on, having my name cleared.
Being a cyclist, it's hard enough as it is. People look down on you, like all cyclists are dopers. It's crazy.
But anyway, Non-officially I confirm the rumor: I'll be looking for another team to race for in 2013. Too much has happened. Don't get me wrong, I love my team mates, and I'm going to miss them, but I need to get a second start somewhere else.
Tomorrow is the second stage in Austria, a mountain stage! Time for me to show how much I've improved over the last few months of intensive training!

Jesleyh: Thanks
Said it before but will say it again: sorry for the people who find these things pretty boring. But it's essential for the story, they needed to go through that. I'll always make room for things like that, news etc. Of course, there's been a lot of news and almost no racing lately, but that's only now, with my internship and all. Anyway, hope you enjoy the story!! |

You at least know my opinion, I think it's great, and I see Stijn & Willy like persons now instead of only cyclists...

That's great news
And you know to which team they should go imo
Spoiler Omega Pharma - Quickstep
But anyway, good luck in Austria. Proof the world that training is the only doping you need.
