Stage 4 Vuelta a Mallorca
Today is the decisive day in Mallorca and with Agostinho 12 seconds and Rui Costa 20 seconds behind Spilak, and with Sagan on the way as well, Movistar should up the pace and try to attack a lot.
With the end downhill, the route has a lot of difficulties all day.
With 45 km to go and the break almost caught, some guys try to resist Movistar's fast pace.
Karpets leading the 74 men peloton.
With Agostinho behind Spilak, Rui Costa attacks!
Albasini reacts and gets Rui Costa back to the peloton. 30 km to go.
Rui Costa is trying again, now after Lastras made his move. His former team mate is also 20 seconds from the lead.
Rui Costa finds a gap.
And the yellow jersey is left behind!
With Rui Costa and Agostinho on the first 10 men group, now it's Sagan who is left behind. The climb is almost ending and then it's almost all descent to the end.
And with 3.5 km to go Agostinho and Costa can't follow the last attacks. Agostinho made a great effort to reach the front group and is now paying for it. Vanendert, Lofkvist, Capecchi, Mollema, Lastras and Nieve will decide the Vuelta a Mallorca winner.
And Vanendert gets the best out of Nieve and Lofkvist. Let's see how many seconds will Agostinho lose...
... and Agostinho is 7th with Rui Costa in 8th with more than 50 seconds lost to the first 6.
Their lack of technical down hill skills together with the attacks who put both Spilak and Sagan out of the discussion, made them pay and neither Joaquim or Rui got the win in Mallorca.

After 2 weeks where myself and the server had some problems being on line, Agostinho's story is back with Volta ao Algarve.
Volta ao Algarve 2013
With the same roaster that got two top 10 places on Mallorca, Movistar brings the two portuguese riders on their roaster to try to shine on the portuguese sun.
Stage 1
With lots of difficulties but no huge mountain, Movistar should get the pace high all day.
And Movistar and Liquigas work has created a gap and only about 70 riders follow on the main group. The 4 men BOD still has 2 minutes on them with 30 km to go.
With 19 km to go, Sagan and Freire attack! But Movistar team is very strong and rapidly closes the gap.
And Peter Sagan takes a close win to Rui Costa, with Agostinho right behind them and José Herrada getting the 4th place.
Stage Results
1 Peter Sagan Liquigas - Cannondale 3h54'23
2 Rui Costa Movistar Team s.t.
3 Joaquim Agostinho Movistar Team s.t.
4 José Herrada Movistar Team s.t.
5 Daniel Oss Liquigas - Cannondale s.t.
6 Peter Velits Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team s.t.
7 Pablo Lastras Euskaltel - Euskadi s.t.
8 Sebastian Langeveld Orica - GreenEdge s.t.
9 Lieuwe Westra Saur - Sojasun s.t.
10 Aitor Galdos Caja Rural s.t.

Stage 2 Volta ao Algarve
The 2nd stage is another one that seems to be made for Sagan. Yesterday only Movistar challenged him and today they'll sure try again.
And today's first picture was taken 100 km from the end with the 5 men BOD. They have about 4'30 on the peloton. Only Brookwalter (BMC) is dangerous to the GC as he lost 1'47 yesterday. All the others are more then 9 minutes away.
After the first 3rd Category climb the BOD was caught and rapidly another one was formed, but this one with 5 well placed men on GC, including Voeckler. We're 60 km from the end.
Voeckler is the first on the second 3rd category climb. Despite Movistar's great effort the break still has 1'30 and the peloton remains with 70 men, some of them quite fast, including a guy named Peter.
With a great descent and on the middle of a huge orange field Voeckler has created a gap of 3 minutes to the peloton, leaving his break companions behind. 30 km to go. Can he make it?
With 9 km to Voeckler is on sight but doesn't quit. Liquigas and Movistar have made the rhythm so high that only 22 men are on their group.
And Voeckler holds to the line with a rocket right behind him.
Rui Costa is third and Agostinho is fifth.
Stage Results
1 Thomas Voeckler Team Europcar 5h21'30
2 Peter Sagan Liquigas - Cannondale s.t.

Stage 3 Volta ao Algarve
And with Alto do Malhão at the end of the stage, Movistar will try to set things to Costa, gaining some time to the good tt's that might threaten GC.
The 3 men BOD with A. Davis, A. Klier and T. Hupond managed an 8 minute gap with 100 km to go. Liquigas is controlling things at the back.
With 60 km to go Movistar has taken the front of the peloton and lots of guys are being left behind while the break is now just 5'30 ahead.
And with 20 km to go Nieve begins the hostilities, followed by V. Rodrigues and O. Sevilla.
Sami Sanchéz attacks and...Sagan responds! Rui Costa is trusting on Plaza and Herrada's work, while Agostinho is not well placed.
Euskaltel is giving everything and is now Lastras who attacks, followed by V. Rodrigues (again) and... Cadel Evans! 12 km to go.
With 4.5 km to go the final climb has started and S. Sanchéz has a gap.
Last Km! Costa on Sagan's wheel. Agostinho a bit behind...
...with Sanchéz already caught, Sagan seems too strong and while Costa tries to go with him, Machado comes from the left...
... and another win to Peter Sagan. Rui Costa is 2nd and Agostinho is 15th.
Spoiler What a beast Sagan is on this 2nd year

Stage 4 Volta ao Algarve
The 4th stage was a flat one made for sprinters, and it went pretty well for Movistar as Sagan's was only fourth and didn't get any bonus.
Stage Results
1 Alessandro Petacchi Lampre - ISD 3h49'31
2 Daniel Oss Liquigas - Cannondale s.t.
3 Allan Davis Orica - GreenEdge s.t.

8 Hilton Clarke UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team s.t.
9 Mattia Gavazzi Lampre - ISD s.t.
10 Anuar Manan LA - Antarte s.t.
So we move to last day's time trial with Rui Costa having very good chances to win Volta ao Algarve 2013.
