The Italian men's beach volleyball team need to man up, they are in full length thermals yet the Austrians are in crop tops and shorts

GB women should win that but it will be close (4-2 with late winners)

Netherlands are the world number one so I expect you to lose 4-1 (sorry)

Australia is number 1 so The Netherlands can't be Wink And Belgium almost won against Germany (2-1, dominating the first 20 minutes of the game Pfft), which are number 2 of the world if I'm correct? Anything is possible I guess Smile

For the women it will be hard to win against GB indeed, but the Red Panthers have nothing to lose, every minute in London is a minute of great pleasure for them Wink They'll do anything to avoid losing Grin

They are number 3 then  They were number 1 before last years world champs. I was surprised Belgium are 11th because I never hear of them in major comps (most are top 10 I think)

Yeah it will be hard for you but you may make one of the lower play offs 5/6?

I am going to see both Bronze medal matches and can't wait Grin

You have to love the 150m conga going round the beach volleyball Grin

Well yeah, both men and women have improved massively in the last years, I think the men have participated already in Beijing, but I'm not sure.. And the men have already won sometimes against Germany I think Smile Watch out for both teams in Rio! Grin

I am going to see both Bronze medal matches and can't wait Grin

Lucky you!

When they changed ends it went round the top of the stadium Pfft

So Belgium are an up and coming nation, it would make sense as they are between Germany and Holland Pfft

I await Rio then (you better get a medal Angry)

So, as Avin said, Estanguet won the Canoe Slalom C1. I went to the heats of that.

Estanguet:

Florence not making a final is huge surprise, especially unplesant for home fans.

Nice pictures as always, i am really jealous when i see it, i can almost feel the atmosphere. Nice pic of Martikan battling with the water Smile
I'll be back

For Canada it's 4 bronze medals Wink
And all 4 from Québec athletes Pfft

Watched Great Britain v Brazil in the women's football last night, what a game that was, much better than most Professional football i have seen Wink

Watching a lot of these events it seems to me as if it is all about making the least mistakes.

Florence was disappointing, but when watching it I got the feeling that he just wasn't going as well as some of the others. There does some to be an element of luck involved in the canoe slalom, I cannot believe the water is the same for everyone.

Incidentely jseadog1 I prefer the medal table priortising Golds, it's interesting that Canada and US seem to prefer medal counts in their press also.

But the total medal count reads better for British eyes!

It's interesting that Australia and GB are really struggling to get going before the Velodrome and Canada must be getting sick of these bronze medals!

It's the same thing in Belgium, almost everybody lost today Sad Only Kim Clijsters won her match.. Especially Tim Maeyens was very disappointing Sad And the Red Lions (hockey) deserved the win against The Netherlands, they were (again) dominating the whole 2nd half.. But yeah, Holland was super effective.. Pfft

Hockey specialists: can you say why Holland's first goal was approved and the one of the Belgian women team yesterday not? Pfft

Fragment 11/13, with the title: 'Van der Weerder scoort vanuit een strafcorner'

The goal of the women is already been discussed yesterday in this thread Smile

Can you link me to a video of the goals?

I would guess the Dutch goal was deflected

EDIT: I found it

It's in the spoiler, the goal is video 11/13 Smile

But it's okay, 2 of the players have given an explanation on Belgian television, the goal was approved because it was a 'drag flick' (I think it is this in English) or something like that Pfft
