Fantastic reports as ever, SN, and one of my favourite stages.
Feel disappointed for Martin and Gadret, as I'd hoped they'd both grab some time back on the rest of the GC riders. Better news for Fothen, though whether SotD will think that's justified their TDF is another matter.

Good stage from Pluchkin looking stronger than both Cunego and Madrazo. Shame such a strong group got away, maybe Pluchkin could have won it today.

Good stage, though, I'm a bit disappointed Madrazo didn't try anything. But congratulations to Festina and sotd, winning the Queen stage can't be bad. |

Just amazing entertainment there.
Obviously slightly disappointed that Gadret couldn't quite do it, but better to have gambled then done nothing. Impey being eliminated is the biggest disappointment really.
A truly epic stage - written up brilliantly, loved it!

What a stage, what a report! Really, really nice effort from Henao there, I have to be really happy with his result. I would be happy with that 10th place in Paris at start of this race and that seems like a real possibility now.

Well I'm really happy to see Fothen come around, so congrats to SotD. I hoped that they would let Marquez go though, and Amador didn't finish as well as he looked either. Bummed to lose the team lead, but its not over yet Wiggle!

Great to see Fothen winning,this could save the Tour for Festina at least a bit.Also nice to see that Henao and Kash slipped into the top 10 with their attacking riding.

That was a great report, SN. Enjoyable read.
Would have been even better with some decent action on the stage. The battle for the overall just didn't happen and we were left with a very strong break taking it again.
Someone like Dekker, Uran, Spilak or one of the other Top 10 riders getting into that break would have made for a truly spectacular stage and would have made more sense than what actually happened.
Feeling quite nervous about Cunego's advantage now....I have a feeling there's only going to be about a spread of 10 seconds between the top 2. |
