My chance for winning is that Gadret really fails tomorrow with the TT. And the bonus that Kreuziger will give me by winning points jersey with Kruijswijk in seconds. Gonna by close run thing |

What points jersey? Do you mean youth rankings jersey? 'Cos there are no points for that ranking, I think.
I'm bound to fall to 4th or 5th. No one wants Ricco in the podium. |

Nooooo. I thought there were points for youth rankings, that was why I picked Kreuziger over Scarponi Stupid me. Then I will be more than happy with 3rd place finish.

Man, sorry to disappoint you with one stage remaining. This must be the worst time to learn that. :/ |

Congrats to Alakagon.
44th for me is quite disappointing but actually Machado, Pozzovivo and Lövkvist killed me. LeMevel, Gadret and Garzelli would have been the better choice instead.
Just a question? Pozzovivo had 1point with a cost of 10. Was there anybody worse?

Congrats Alakagon on your victory! Kreuziger and Rodriguez's strong finishes really clinched it for you!
Some thoughts on what was important:
1. Picking at least one of Gadret, Pinotti or Le Mevel
2. A 2 point rider that ended up high on GC (Kruijswick most obviously, or Dupont) or at least got a stage win (Ulissi).
3. A decent sprinter who wasn't too expensive (Ventoso most obviously), as many of the best pulled out meaning their points jersey classification positions were meaningless.
4. Contador and either Nibali or Scarponi. My pick-the-best-3 strategy ultimately didn't work out as well as those who saved points on one of these 3 and got 2 riders who could perform within the top 10 consistently.
5. Don't pick Napolitano. Seriously. Ever.

In hindsight I shouldntve picked Niemiec - he just worked for Scarponi, not much points there. But still, 2nd again, cant really complain

And for those who didn't see it on the site:
Thanks for playing, and check back in future days for the next Velogames event - I will aim to slot in an extra game between now and the Fantasy Tour de France, which should itself go live towards the end of June.

The best team would be:
Contador 26
Nibali 22
Scarponi 18
Gadret 6
Rujano 8
Ventoso 6
Le Mevel 4
Dupont 2
Suitsou 4
which actually gives you 4 points to spare
This gives you 9379, a victory by almost 1000 points over the best team.

Not really sure why I picked Duarte (142), Ardila (7), Pineau (86) and Kessiakoff (0 - didn't even start). It's only thanks to good performances by Petacchi, Contador and Scarponi (Anton's stagewin too) that I made it to place 42. Oh well, it was my first time playing a fantasy game |

What about Kruijswijk for 2? Did he get less points than Dupont? |

Duarte would have been a good pick before he got injured, he was going well. That injury cost my team aswell.

39th. About normal for me in these games. Although given I was leading, it's pretty poor from me.
Good fun, let's bring on the next game.

Ferrari, Lastras and Nieve were all 2 pointers who got more than Kruijswijk but less than Dupont

I finished 11th, just outside the top 10 =/ I ended up as the 6th best Norwegian in the game. It's my best result in the Velogames so far.

Oh, I hope my luck for the Tour game is better than last year. I think I had three or four guys crashing out in the first week. It was insane. I remember I had F.Schleck & Vandevelde, and I think Farrar too. |

So what should you look for when picking riders? From last year, I learned that GC guys were good picks, since they got huge points at the end, and daily points for being high on GC. But Lastras, Ferrari? Is it better to have guys who finish very high up on a couple of stages than a consistent GC guy getting into the top 10 in the end?
Edit: And WTF? Sastre is the 16th highest scorer. I hardly ever saw him in the race. Breakaway riders are obviously pretty good picks then.
