You seem to forget it's an individual price. Yes, Ribery won more prizes, but he wasn't the best player of the season. If anyone of Bayern should have won it, it should be Lahm or Schweinsteiger.
This.. only what´s bold is important.. if any of you knows something about football, you should not compare Ronaldo, Ribery and Messi.. they are all totally different, with Ronaldo being the most complete of them.

Yes, but we're talking about the spirit of the ballon d'or ! For exemple, the spirit of the European Championships is a competition between european teams ! For the ballon d'or, the spirit of this trophy is an award given by journalists, and it's more often the best man in the best team who win it in the past, and it's not any more the case now.

Its just stupid but it does not really matter.
On a more important note Arsenal are up 2-0 against Aston Villa thanks to goals from Jack Wilshire and Olivier Giroud.

Not a fan of Ronaldo at all, but he was the best player. Arsenal 2 goals in 40 seconds.

I still believe that Messi is completely over rated, a lot of his goals are from about as close to the goal as possible. A good attacking player is one who gets a lot of asists andscores goals when they are needed and from difficult positions.
a) Messi has quite some assists. 20 in 54 games last season for instance, which is more than Ronaldo.
b) A good attacking player is a player who knows where to be at the right moment. Sure, Messi benefits a lot from the assists, but he has to be in the position to score, and few players can do that as good as he can. And don't tell me he hasn't scored some rather spectacular goales over the past few years...

I personally think a Bundesliga player should definitely be the Ballon D'Or winner. It may be because I completely hate spanish teams and thespanish national team but Ronaldo shouldn't get it. Messi and Ronaldo are 'so good' yet they can not carry their team into the final which Robben, Ribery, Lahm and Lewandowski could. Its the same with the National teams, Portugal and Argentina are not very good...
It's funny you mention three Bayern players who evidently all carried the team to the finals all by themselves. Wait, what?
Bayern was obviously the overwhelming team of the past season. But Ribery didn't carry the team on his own. Quite on the contrary, in comparison to Barca and Real, they were so superior because the were strong on every single position, even players No. 12-15.

How can you be the best player if you don't make your team win ?
I agree with anderspcm here. I don't think the performance of the team should be a factor. Real played a bad season, should Ronaldo be punished for that even if he himself played well? Doesn't it even enhance his performance, having done it in a inferior team, opposing to Ribery, who had the perfect environment in a team that worked as well as any team possibly could?

Completely agree with you there

How can you be the best player if you don't make your team win ? It's the spirit of the Ballon d'or that the best man in the best team win it : Cannavaro in 2006, Ronaldinho in 2005, Ronaldo in 2008, it's everytime the same thing, but it stopped in 2010 when the fifa buy the trophy to FF
Ronaldo pushed Portugal to World Cup with 4!!! goal in playoffs, that is not enough for you?
Also best football player award should go to best football player, anyone who has ever seen a game o football can hardly doubt that there was a better player in 2013 than Ronaldo.
At start of December, Ronaldo had 66! goals for the club and Portugal in just 55 matches, that is lame or what?
Bayern is the best team (it should make best XI almost completly, Spanish giants are just pushed by corruption), Ronaldo is clearly the best player, by far...

The indivisual awards in Football are not even cared about by quite a few riders because they know its complete bs. Thats why its the same players every year.
And that is why i like that Ronaldo actually appreciates that he was given that award, those who say they do not care about it are just lame to win it, or does not deserve it for their mental state (Suarez* cough).

Actually the Ballon d'Or criteria is a player who performed the best in this year.
And so Ronaldo is actually ok.
But the World XI is absolutely laughable.

How did Suarez not get selected for team of the year?? He is carrying Liverpool so hard. Good for Ronaldo to get his second but it should have been Ribery to be fair.
Pozzato sucks!

Ronaldo winning the Ballon D'Or is absolutely legit. Avin and Cunego are absolutely right in what they said. |

Maybe because diving and bitting the opponents is not so cool for the selectors?

I dont think that even FIFA will allow their player of the year to be a cheating, dirty arsehole.
