Good stage, you've got to keep Levi in the podium and one of the portuguese on the top-10.

Thanks Yeah, that will be my goals for the last stage, but knowing that Dave and Rubén are not such strong at the climbs, maybe I will risk an attack...
Tour of the Gila
Stage 4: Downtown Silver City Criterium, 66,4 km
It looks a bit frightened, but after visiting the circuit, we have to admit that it is more flat then it looks. Perfect for a sprinter who has good hill abilities - like Daryl Impey?
Favourites: Peter Velits, Daryl Impey , Daniel Martin, Chris Horner , Lance Armstrong
My tip: Peter Velits showed his good shape and is a decent sprinter, so he is a good bet for today.

Depart in Silver City.
Todays breakaway: Sergey Firsanov (Designa Kokken), Andy Guptill (Jamis), Alex Dowsett (Livestrong), Bernard Van Ulden (Jelly Belly), Michael Tronborg (Glud&Marstrand) and... Lance Armstrong. Seeing that he is already 6 minutes down, he decided to break away to promote his cancer foundation.
...And i thought it would be a calm day. Accelerations in the peloton, almost all GC contenders expect our guys attacked.
But we know what to do. Though Lance was also in front, we send our whole squad (expect Impey) to the front as pacemakers to caught Martin, Velits etc.
Group Armstrong; +37" Santambrogio, Bochman, Martin, Velits, Bauer; +46" Bajadali; +59" Peloton.
And with 8km to go, we brought them back. Good work!
Almost 4km to the finish, the peloton really accelerated to catch the breakaway, and Lance decide to attack a last time!
And as the final sprint begin, Armstrong was still in front with a gap of 20 seconds...
1km left, and unfortunaletly, Lance slowed down. No victory for him. But in the pack, Daryl Impey accelerated to make his final move!
And he show who is the king in the sprints here, he really declass his opponents today.
A 8th for The Boss.

That's too easy in the US, Radio Shack dominance.

Yeah, I hope it is really not to boring to read... But that is what happening if there are Horner, Impey, McCartney and Busche in an good shape and a really weak startlist...
2. Mai
Georg Nennesson (13 U23-race days 2010, thereof 6 victories) decided to sign our contract, like Horemans, he will be a trainee from August
Looks really like a good talent, only thing I worry about is his worse recovery, it do not seem that he will be able to win a points jersey from a GT
Tour de Romandie
Stage 5: Sion - Sion, 122,2 km
A flat finish, but the Ovronnaz is so close that we can expect a lot of attacks there.
Favourites: Ivan Basso, Vincenzo Nibali, Alexandre Vinokourov, Michael Rogers, Christophe Le Mével
My tip: Vino should be really angry about yesterday, but this rage will not lead him to the dark side, but rather to a victory today^^

Nennesson looks really good. I wouldn't worry about recovery too much. I'd worry about making time limits on big mountain stages.

I think both stats have same importance...this guy may become real champion on flat classic or one week stage races, but he´s absolutely useless for GT´s

Georg Nennesson looks great for flat stages, classics. I agree with beagle, that he is useless for GT, but that's not too bad at all, if he is briliant in other races ... and don't mind about your domination in Tour of Gila! Your story isn't boring! Good luck for Romandie

Thank you all
Nennesson will have to try to start in a GT but he will probably win a stage in the first week, afterwards, we see nothing from him If he also improve his hill stat, than he could really be a rider for M-SR, Vattenfall Cyclassics, Paris-Tours etc... But finally, I think he will be a interesting rider for our sqaud.
Depart in Sion.
Here at the top in Anzère. 3 rider, Gustav Larsson (Saxo bank), Timofey Kritskiy (Katusha) and Jelle Vanendert (Omega Pharma) are in front, followed by six other, Daniel Lloyd (Cervélo), Nick Nuyens (Rabobank), Aitor Galdos (Euskaltel), Fabio Felline (Footon), Francisco Gavazzi (Lampre) and Gianni Meersman (FDJ) behind him, then the peloton.
Group Larsson; +1'30" Group Lloyd; +2'24" P.

Gustav Erik Larsson (SaxoBank) 8
Jelle Vanendert (Omega Pharma) 6

Aitor Galdos (Euskaltel) 2
Why ever, Vino and Casar attacked!
Group Larsson; +1'21" Group Lloyd, Vinokourov; +1'55" Casar; +2'27" P.
Vino and Casar let themself fall back as they looked their cyclometer that there are still over 100km to go.
Group Larsson; +1'23" Group Lloyd; +5'25" P.

Timofey Kritskiy (Katusha) 12
Gustav Erik Larsson (SaxoBank) 8
Jelle Vanendert (Omega Pharma) 6
Aitor Galdos (Euskaltel) 4
Fabio Felline (Footon) 2
Group Lloyd catches up Group Larsson, so we have now a 9 men breakaway.
Group Larsson/Lloyd; +3'44" P.
It started to get steeper again. Vacansoleil did most of the work today to caught the breakaway...
E1; +2'28" P.
...with success. Only Dan Lloyd gave it a last try, but it was hopeless for him.
We reached almost the top of the climb in Ovronnaz, and Ivan Basso accelerated, countered by Levi!
Levi pass Basso and set a strong attack, but... probably to late. He is chased now by a 32 rider group, it is nearly impossible that he really get away.
Spoiler
Levi Leipheimer (RadioShack) 12
Ivan Basso (Liquigas) 8
Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana) 6
Marco Pinotti (Colombia) 4
Frederik Kessiakoff (Garmin) 2
The intermediate sprint in Vetroz. As expected, at the downhill Group Basso almost caught him, but Levi could hold himself in front till the sprint, so 6 bonus seconds for him.
Spoiler
Levi Leipheimer (RadioShack) 6
Matteo Carrara (Vacansoleil) 3
Frederik Kessiakoff (Garmin) 1
Under the 5km-Mark, 33 rider left in the front group, including the favourites and TheShack rider Leipheimer, Machado and Paulinho. And with Carrara, only one good sprinter left, so we probably know already todays stage winner.
And here we go, the sprint begin. And a surprise: Carrara is really bad positioned almost at the end of the group, so he is to late for the stage win. It get a really strange sprint, and surprisingly...

I talked about Basso, Nibali, Vino or Leipheimer, finally, it was all nonsens. Dave Zabriskie perform two good time trials, and withot any time loss at the mountain stages, he is the deserved winner of the Tour de Romandie 2010! With the intermediate sprint, Leipheimer even can pass Plaza and finish 2nd. With the unexpected stage win, Paulinho gets up to the seventh place, Machado can hold himself as 10th. The big dissapointing are probably the Liquigas rider. Nibali "only" finished 9th, Basso 15th.

It would be great if TheShack could perform in Italy like at the Tour de Romandie
Tour of the Gila
Stage 5: Silver City - Pinos Altos, 163,2 km
The last stage in New Mexico will a last challenge, we pass many hills today. Horner has a good adavntage, mbut Martin will try everything today to destroy our winning streak.
Team goals:
- Win (I hope that do not sound to arrogant, but after winning 4 of 4 stages, we also want to have the last
- Hold the yellow jersey
Favourites: Chris Horner , Daniel Martin, Peter Velits, Mauro Santambrogio, Lance Armstrong .
My tip: After two stage wins at similar profiles, Chris Horner should be the top favourite for today, and I think he make it today.

Depart in Silver City.

Favourites:
Spoiler
Ivan Basso
Until now, he had a quite dissapointing year, his only major results are a 11th at T-A and a 15th in Romandie. But he showed some strong attacks in Switzerland, and as real life winner 2010, he is of course the top favourite here.
+ Good climber; with Szmyd a strong helper
- The TTT and the TT at the last stage
Vincenzo Nibali
Could not fill out his expectations at the Tour de Romandie, but anyway a stage win and the 9th in the GC for him.
+ Good climber
O Average TTler
- His recovery is not too good, maybe he will have problems at the last week
Levi Leipheimer
Strong performance in Switzerland, and as second in the overall there (Beating Nibali and Basso), he has also a good chance here.
+ Strong TTler; Paulinho and Machado as strong helper
- A pretty good climber, but at least not so strong as Basso or Nibali
Damiano Cunego
Already a successfull year for him, Top10 in all the hilly spring classics and as winner of T-A. His problem could be that he raced much races on high level since March, is he still strong enough also to shine at the Giro.
+ Good puncheur, a good bet for long stages (like stage 11)
- Average TTler and climber; since March on high level; he have to split his leader role with Spilak and Petacchi
Bradley Wiggins
As 4th of the TdF 2009, he deserve a 3-star-rating, but he had show nothing until today.
+ Probably the strongest TTler in the peloton; a strong team for the TTT
O Average climber; average recovery
- Nobody helper for the mountains; nothing to see from him 2010
Luis Léon Sánchez
A well-known allrounder, but like Wiggins, his only notable result 2010 was a 24th at Amstel Gold.
+ Good Allrounder; Strong squad
- At least, he is not as good as Leipheimer or Basso; Could have problems at the last weak; Maybe not in good shape
Marco Pinotti
With a strong 4th in Romandie, we can not underestimate him.
+ Pretty good TTler
- Average climber; no helper for the mountains
Stefano Garzelli
After his exciting victory 2000 here, he was nearly always able to get a Top10 at the Giro, we all know that The Giro is his main goal for the season.
+ Pretty strong climber
- Will lost much time at the TTT; not a strong TTler; Maybe problems at the third week
Michele Scarponi
With the overall victory at the Giro del Trentino, he already showed his good shape.
+ Probably the best climber behind the Liquigas boys
- Huge time loss at the TTT; A weak TTler; Probably guaranteed problems at the last days with his recovery
Sergio Paulinho
The first of our portuguese top rider has a good shape, and with a stage win at the mountain stage in Sion, he showed his power.
+ Good Allrounder; Strong squad
- Has probably to work for Levi
Simon Spilak
I do not know why Lampre set him as leader, expect a 24th at the Flèche Wallone, he did not show anything.
+ Better climber than Cunego
- Weak at TTs; have to split his leader role with Cunego and Petacchi
Rubén Plaza
To be fair, I do not expect anything from him, but after a 2nd in Switzerland, we can not ignore him.
+ Allrounder
- Have to work for Cobo and Sánchez; Maybe with problems at the last weak.
Domenico Pozzovivo
Strong climber who already showed his abilities at the Vuelta a Castilla y Léon.
+ Strong climber
- No helper for the mountains; Huge time losses at the TT and the TTT
Bauke Mollema
Of course no contender for the overall, but a young and talented rider who should be motivated to show his potential.
+ Good climber; have a experienced helper (Ardila)
- His TT abilities
Kevin Seeldrayers
As best young rider 2009 and 19th in Switzerland, he could be a candidate for a Top10.
+ Good climber
- Weak squad (expect Cataldo); weak TTler
Tiago Machado
Of course only the third leader of The Shack, but who can forget him after his Top10 in Switzerland.
+ Good climber; wants to show his potential; strong squad
- Only a average TTler; Has to work for Levi
The sprinter:
*** Alessandro Petacchi, Daniele Bennati, Óscar Freire
** Robbie McEwen, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Robbie McEwen
* Danilo Napolitano, Robert Hunter, Baden Cooke, Daryl Impey
Team RadioShack:
Spoiler
Our leader will be Levi Leipheimer . As his strongest helpers and Co-Leaders, we can annonce Sergio Paulinho and Tiago Machado . Daryl Impey is our sprinter, Geoffrey Lequatre will support him. Ben Hermans and Chechu Rubiera are helper for hillier profiles, Jason McCartney and Markel Irizar for flat stages.
Our goals for the Giro 2010:
- Victory Overall (Leipheimer)
- Another Top 10 (Paulinho/Machado)
- 1-2 stage wins
Stage 1: Amsterdam, 8,2km ITT
A quite flat and short time trial, we will not see many important time gaps for the GC. But it is directly a chance to see who is in shape.
Team goals:
- Top 10 (Leipheimer, knowing that I am weak at short TTs)
- Top 20 (Machado/Paulinho)
Favourites: Bradley Wiggins, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Levi Leipheimer , Vincenzo Nibali, Luis Léon Sánchez.
My tip: A good chance for Wiggins to show that he is a GC contender here...
