It is not Hushovd, who has been lucky, it is just Farrar being really unlucky.
Farrar's bad luck is Hushovd's good luck - theyre not independent when both were 2 of the big rivals for the Green going into the Tour

Thor Hushovd is by far the best points competitor as he can race on the flat the cobbles in a break and is even pretty good in the mountains compared to most in his sphere. Today, like last year when he broke away alone and went over climbs to take the sprint points , proved he is one of the best alround competitors. Winning in the tour is not all about being the best sprinter or the best uphill it is much more than that and im glad that today proved that to all the cyclist and especially as Thor won the day. |

To make it clear, it is not a sprint jersey, but a point jersey. I know this has been said earlier in this thread.

So, everyone hating on Hushovd for not working, why aren't you hating Evans and Thomas? They sprinted too.
If it was a breakaway, sure. But it wasn't. Hushovd couldn't give a crap about the time gain. He's there for the points. So, it's perfectly normal that he wouldn't work.

What a stage. So proud being dane today. What a team we have. I bet they're also delighted with you being Dane at this very time.
You're really the deserving person in here. |

Quite right. Cancellara did so much of the work for the single aim of gaining as much time as possible for Schleck. He wasnt interested in the stage win, or if he was, he quickly sacrificed that wish.

That, plus after what he has shown in cobbles races this season, wasting any strength for no particular purpose but the sole beauty of it would have been quite suicidal by Hushovd... |

on the vino/contador thing by the way.
The 3km rule covers mechanicals. So Vino is blameless really.
Wait - so that means Contador will get given the same time as Vino/Wiggins/Menchov?
If so, it was actually a great move by Vino to keep pushing

According to letour.fr, Contador was 20 seconds behind Vinokourov on today's stage. I don't know if that list is fully updated though. |

Quite. The official standings have Contador losing 20 seconds.

Does that rule count when there is a puncture, not a crash? |

Ok.....
And Jonathan Vaughters says the same as you
"Vino's push was smart. Alberto flatted (2kms togo), so will be given the time of Vino's group. Therefor, the faster Vino went, the better."
