You cannot compare anyway, they were way too slow yesterday in some portions compared to previous ascensions where they were many other top riders... Contador could have done it at least 2 minutes better, and he's not at his top... |

This climb is sort of interesting.
Hagen has attacked on it.

I have a nagging feeling that Hagen is a certain winner today...

If the break isn't caught, then yes. Otherwise he'll have to work for it. |

That was a good race, well done to Brajokvic and to Hagen.
Now Switzerland...

Did Contador get the points to pass Brajkovic for the green jersey?

well done brajkovic. good call to seemingly peak at the dauphine to take biggest win of his career. sadly this isn't much of an indicator for contador because of the lack of competition.
good ride for Geraint Thomas to take 21st overall and 4 top 10's (including two top 5s). He's adapting well now he's gone all out on the road. And good racing for kennaugh to finish 39th.

Is G the next Wiggins I wonder? At the start of last season, I did wonder where Sky/"The British Pro Tour Team" was going to get a "future tour winner" from, and then, of course, Wiggins popped up.
I just wonder if they had a back up plan in many of the guys they have in the Olympic squads, like G, Kennaugh, Swift, etc. Obviously some guys have areas they are good at (Swift is a sprinter more than climber clearly), but guys like Thomas I reckon they must have on their "back up plan" list to replace Wiggins...

And don't take that post as me saying Geraint Thomas WILL be a future tour contender, because I seriously doubt he will. I'm just putting my thoughts out there that I have to presume that British Cycling had some other plan rather than just Wiggins as a tour contender.

He's certainly one of our most talented home grown talents, who can "climb" to an extent.
