I am just thinking i won't be at the standards, it is the former club of Andy Fenn and Laura Trott. I have been on a ride everyday this week, which I guess is helping

Thought I would post a pic of my recent Steel Build, 1994 Giant Perigee I built up with modern spare parts. Really happy with this one and rides like a dream.

Looks great. And you've built in an Ultegra, so the shifting will be nice, too. I wish I could be riding atm...

So the last couple of rides to work have pushed me over the line once again for the Velobici Spring Challenge Comp https://veloviewer.com/challenges/vbsc.../vbscc2015 currently sitting 51st overall in total k's, 9th overall in the Steel is Real ladder (only been riding a steel bike for 15 days so could of run it close to winning had I had one at the start) and 15th on the Nightrider ladder but noway in hell I can compete with the endurance legend that is Brian Toone.
Oh and Shonak, i'd love to build you a bike

Did my first ride with cycling shoes today. I simply love it...I mean i crashed one time, but it still was a great experience.
I didn't forget to unclip my pedal. But i unclipped my right foot and i put my weight on the left foot...so i fell down.

Yes, nearly been there...unclip in plenty of time...oops weight going the wrong way
Thankfully my pedals seem fine on minimum tension and so rip free okay in those rare moments anyway. Certainly I found making the switch from flats a great improvement in quality of life - once set up not having to constantly re-position the feet to get comfortable after every slip or stop.
It's also nice to very rarely get that little bit more power when pulling on the pedals for a burst of max power up a short climb. |

This! I love, how you can pull the pedals on steeper sections. I really need this at my uni, where we have some very short 20% at times. But like you said, I love the fact, that you cannot simply slip of the pedal, like i did sometimes when I had no cycling shoes.

Dunno, always been a natural at clipping and unclipping my shoes. However it's rather awkward when you stop at a traffic light and grab with your hand for the post and almost miss it and nearly lose your balance. Thankfully I never fell in such a circumstance.
Also, ever since I took that spinning class I feel like I can pedal out of the saddle again. I had some issues since around new year's eve to actually get out of the saddle and climb because my upper legs gave in very, very quickly, which really surprised me. Ever since I took that class, I can ride out of the saddle for quite some time again. It could be that it's a drop in performance since I havn't done too much cycling in April (very little to be precise, a bit above 300 km), because I'm so certainly no getting back to my old climbing prowess in that hellish flatland.

Agreed with everything you said, I had a few crashes when I got them for the first time over Christmas Yeah they really make a difference, especially in those steeper sections for sure

Saddle..
Started to look more confort saddle for my bike. I know it is personal matter..
Fizik Arione was just to hard for my soft part..
Started with spezialised..Romin was first and quick no..
Now Toupe Pro..much better. longer ride test needed now..thinking also to try Toupe comp gel for next (softer saddle).
I am ready to loose some watts to get more comfort saddle to ride also 4-5h. rides.
Who has experence with Prologo? (my hext brand for test)
Or what ever great experience for you personaly..to consider and test. |

Belatedly realised I needed new shorts when I started to get uncomfortable in the saddle - padding was shot after a couple of years worth of friction |

Yesterday I saw a girl with this (lifestyle) jacket from Castelli on the street. Why is this not produced for men - super stylish.

So yesterday you saw a girl with this jacket. Now you're taking detailed pictures of it...
Okay, either you killed her or you slept with her. Or both. Either way, seems like you got the jacket off okay!

Yeah I have 2 Arione's that came with my TCR's sitting on the shoes, they are a horrible saddle. I use the Selle Italia C2 on the TCR and TCX, I can spend 24 hrs on the bike and not get sore with it (also helps being used to being on the bike for long periods of time) and the quality of the product is brilliant, they also aren't very expensive which helps. I am using a Fizik Aliante on the Steel bike which took forever to dial in but now I have the angle worked out its pretty good. Heard good thing about the Specialized stuff and know some who absolutely SMP stuff but they are pricey.
