I've read it, but usually only post replies when it lasts a few weeks in the game, as there are so many 12-stories right now, and a lot of them stop pretty soon after they started....
But good luck with it, looks nice!
Thank You it will last a long time . |

Stage 12
We leave the Pyrénées after 1 day, but stay in the region Catalunya, as today's stage finishes in Lleida. Although most of the route is downhill, except for 1 climb early in the stage, the stage is classified as hilly.
112km to go
After the early breakaway gets caught, Joost Posthuma attacks just before the foot of the only categorized climb of the day, the Coll de Boixols (15.4km at 4.9%). And when every single day, the BOTD consists of 8 riders or more, today, noone is interested to join the timetrial-specialist....
Posthuma arrives at the summit of the Boixols with a margin of 4 minutes to the peloton, but is wondering why he attacked......
31km to go
With the finish approaching, the energy disappears and Posthuma gets passed by BMC's Mauro Santambrogio. The Italian went in the counter attacked halfway the race, and dropped the Dutch rider on a small climb about 35km before the finish. He leads the peloton by 4'36, so a win looks certain.
Finish
And it is! Santambrogio takes the win in Lleida and gives his team the 2nd stage win in a row. 3'58 behind finish Stefan Denifl and Manuele Mori, who also attacked out of the peloton and passed Posthuma.
Joost Posthuma finishes just a few metres before the first riders of the peloton (the Lotto duo Hagen and Goss), 5'23 behind Santambrogio. Andy Schleck finishes in 7th, collecting some valuable points for the green jersey (winning that jersey is a sponsor goal). No time losses for the GC-contenders.

Word from the DS
To obad for Posthuma that noone wanted to join him in the attack. Strange.... He did a great job, but had no chance, as the route and the heat tired him too much.

And that is what makes a story epic! 12 months with the same motivation, I think I wouldn't be able! |

Stage 13
Two smaller climbs in the second half of the stage make it a hilly one. 190 kilometres from Rincón de Soto to Burgos, in the region of Castillia y Leon and the last 30 kilometres are slightly descending. A stage for the sprinters, or a breakaway?
52km to go
With 52km to go, the question is answered: the BOTD will decide who wins the stage, as the margin is over 8 minutes and increasing. And present in this group is Tom Dumoulin. He is in great fitness and has a great daily form of +4, just as saving as much energy as possible. Together with Malacarne, Dupont, Rodríguez, Wren, Haussler, Belkov, Morabito (again), Pérez Arrieta, Eijssen, S. Clarke, Keinath (again), Haddou (again) and Rabon, he'll fight for the stage win.
17km to go
Pérez Arrieta and Rabon get dropped in the 2 climbs, and Davide Malacarne tried to attack with 30km to go but without succes. With 17km to go, both BMC-riders, Yannick Eijssen and Steve Morabito attack, joined by Cristopher Wren (Garmin).
6km to go
Tom Dumoulin feels that this is the one, and counters a few kilometres later, together with Nadir Haddou and Hubert Dupont. The 3 can bridge the gap and lead the 6 others by 40 seconds.
1km to go
Dumoulin is riding in 3rd place with less than 2km to go, behind Eijssen and Dupont. But the pace drops and the 6 chasing riders are closing in rapidly. And with a great sprinter as Heinric Haussler among these 6, the win isn't certain anymore for 1 of the 6 leaders.
So with 1400m to go, Dumoulin launches his sprint. Under the red banner, he is in the lead, closely followed by Morabito. But Haussler and Malacarne are already only a few metres behind...
Finish
Dumoulin (Sp 61) keeps leading until 200m to go. Then Europcars Davide Malacarne (Sp 70) passes him and takes the win in Burgos. Our young Dutch rider also gets passed by Nadir Haddou (Sp 69), so he has to settle with the 3rd place. But he was so close........
The peloton finishes at 9'29, with all the favourites in it.

Word from the DS
Tom was so close to win it, so close...... I feel sorry for him, missing his most important stage with this close margin.
