Tour Mediterraneen – Stage 2
Today’s stage is another flat stage but after the breakaway made it yesterday, it is very unlikely that the peloton will make the same mistake again. Hoping the peloton would make the same mistake were the riders in the breakaway.
The peloton caught the break with 20 kilometers left and the sprinters got ready. With 1 kilometer left Rollin was in the lead but Feillu and Rojas were following close behind.
But who won? In the peloton Caisse celebrate as Rojas edged out Feillu.

Tour Mediterraneen – Stage 3
Today is the only Mountain stage of the race and with a few riders ahead by over a minute this is my last chance to make up time. Right from the beginning there was a small breakaway group.
For most of the race it was Francais des Jeux who controlled the peloton throughout the race. We tried to stay up front with them in order to stay out of trouble.
When we got to the final two climbs Danielson came to the front and pushed the tempo.
As soon as we hit the bottom of the final climb, I attacked and tried to catch up a group that had Rolland and Iglinsky.
I caught up with them and set the pace. They followed me but no one attacked. With half a kilometer left I was barely in the lead.
But I held off Iglinsky and take my first win of the year but I don’t finish far enough ahead to take the yellow jersey.

yeah his stats did increase but I put them back down for now. He does however now have a 79 in mountain but I kept all the other stats the same. This was because I set the increase of stats too fast.
In other news Phinney now has a 79 in TT.

Tour Mediterraneen – Stage 4
Today is another flat stage but the wind is very fast today and there could be some big splits during today’s stage. A group of 8 got away early and they held a gap off about 3 minutes for most of the race.
It was our team that did most of the work and we controlled the peloton for most of the race despite us not holding the yellow jersey.
As I suspected there were some splits in the peloton. Thankfully because I was always in good position, I always ended up in the front group. Buffaz had attacked after the split and picked up a gap. I was close behind him though with 1 kilometer left.
Buffaz held on to the win and celebrates his victory. Not only was I passed by Rubén Pérez but I was also passed by Iglinsky, who take over 2nd place.

Tom Danielson is one of Climbers and as you can see he will either be a leader or a big helper during stage races. In 2005 he finished 1st in the Tour of Georgia and 7th in the Vuelta a Espana. He continues to show he is a great stage racer. Last year he didn't get any top 3 postions but he did have 11 finishes between 4-10 including 7th in the Tour de Pologne.

Christian is the Grand Tour leader of our team. He really showed his strength in 2008 when he finished 4th in the Tour de France and wore the leader's jersey in the Giro D' Italia. Last year he picked up some big results mainly in the Tour de France where he finished 6th overall and took 3rd place in stage 13. This year he has a good chance to possibly take a top 3 in the TDF.

Maaskant was fairly disappointing last year in the cobbles but he still did fairly well in the Vuelta a Espana. He took a 1st place in stage 21 and a 3rd place in stage 12. This year he probably has a better chance at getting a high finish in the Cobbles races after a 4th place finish in Paris Roubaix in 2008.

Tyler Farrar was probably the best rider for our team last year. In the Tour de France he took a stage win and in the Vuelta a Espana he took 3 stage wins. He also took a win in the Eneco tour and also took two 3rd place in both the Vuelta a Espana and in the Eneco Tour. If he is on form then he can dominate sprints. This year we hope he can do better in the Tour de France and take more stage wins.

Last year was a great year for me. I took a stage win in the Tour de France and took the KOM jersey too. I also was part of a couple winning TTT teams. Not only did I defend my Irish National Champion Jersey but I also came in 1st in the U25 classification in both the Tour of Mediterraneen and in the Dauphine Libere. This year I can hope for even better results as I improved over the year and I have another year of experience.
