The best thing is that it's the 2nd time Ruben has been absolutely sure - and been absolutely wrong Hey I wasn't the only one who was absolutely sure of that this time
I think 90% of the cycling world agreed with that... |

Without bothering to check this - I think Bennati was better than him in the Giro. If he wasn't, then you're getting a bit carried away saying - dominated the Giro. |

I'll say what I said before - there was no one in that race capable of blasting off the front.
Basso and Scarponi maybe - but they were riding for others. |

he wasn't the sprinter with the most stage wins, or the most consistent, or even the fastest at the Giro

so far he's dominated every race he's entered this year.
so far he's been competitive at every race he's entered this year, having a 31% rate of wins in sprints stages

well I seem to remember him winning less than Bennati. seeing as he was only 23 and it was his first Giro

and if he races for another 10 years at that ratio then he'll easily get more wins then the 189(or whatever it is)

I'm afraid I was unluckier that Haussler. My stupid internet conection broke down just like 30 minutes before race finish. Anyways... Could it have been possible that the race speed during the first hours was so high that at the end nobody has the power to do a killer rhytm at the climbs? It would be at least funny, because that initial average speed was intended precisely to tire the sprinters.
And why in the world did Haussler ruin his brilliant move by zigzagging like that? I think he traveled like 120 meters during the last 100 meters of the race. Not to mention he kindly opened the door for Cavendish.
But, even not liking Cavendish a lot (actually, I kind of hate him ), he showed power. Chapeau. |

Im very happy for Erik Zabel today. The coaching he has provided Cavendish is superb. In Cavendish will become as great of sprinters as him. |

Langeveld said after the race that, indeed, due to the high initial pace, nobody of the 'punchers' had anything left on the final climbs.
So ironic, the pace that was intented to kill the sprinters, killed the attackers... |

So the idea was to tire the flat-specialist sprinters and benefit the hilly puncheurs by setting a very high pace on the flat.......
Let's make a typical sesame street game out of this:
Which of these doesn't fit?

There`s a quote from cyclingnews I find slightly interresting:
The Cervélo duo Haussler and Hushovd did not only surprise the others, but even themselves. Haussler shot past the others like a rocket. "I yelled at Thor, 'Come on, get on my wheel,' and then I went. I was going too fast and he could not get on my wheel."
Seams like Haussler and Hushovd need to work on their cooperation. Haussler should know that Hushovd`s acceleration is... well, crap, and he could never have followed him after such a jump. |
