Huge win for Scarponi - if indeed he gets it. My biggest surprise is that Rebellin hasn't been closer though.
He's been right there at P-N the last few years. |

And you spoke too soon, Guido. Attack from Pozzato -- failed. |

Cooke sucks donkey balls....by what gift of pure luck was he third?
Note: I'm asking. I didn't watch the race. Therefore such a tremendously bad sprinter such as cooke in third baffles me.

yeah, the speed at which he peeled off made me think he must be a leadout rider

He's been right there at P-N the last few years. how can that be a huge suprise? there was a 30km TT and an almost mountain stage in this years Tirreno. That's not Rebellins terrain |

This is a guy who, back in 2007, agreed with the team that between him and Napolitano, whoever was better on the day would have the full cooperation of the other. And so Napolitano led him out for most of the season.
When the Tour started, Napolitano was obviously in better form.
At which point, Bennati (according to team manager Saronni) literally said to the team "fuck danilo, I'm riding for myself and no one else", and proceeded to do just that. A few days later Napolitano crashed and retired, and Bennati won a stage from a breakaway.
Wonderful attitude. What a nice guy.
