That said, the favourite list does not play a role in the 3D race imo.

Puncheurs can be listed highest there when the stage is hill rated (symbol) even if the climbs are ridden 100% mountain.

So wouldn`t consider this list too important.

No exactly this, we see so many "favorite list" completely "of" what the result turns out to be that I would say you can safely assume that it has zero impact in 3D, seems like it is based on the old FLAT-HILL-MO ratings that is no longer valid in-game.

So many "skill's" work different in the new'er PCM versions, I'm quite sure the "favorite list" can't handle any of that.

Going to check Kent's question. I think the favorite list does matter. Or more specifically it may reflect a game mechanic - the higher stamina rider was listed in game riders list as rider #1 and the team appeared to treat him as a second leader - he never attempted to lead out the better sprinter. Will test that more at the same time as I test Kent's fix.

May matter less in other types of races where the leader will emerge driven by the terrain.

Changing the values in sta_rider_type had no impact.

The weight of stamina definitely effects 3D behavior. When I gave teams an 83/83 SP with 65 ST and an 81/81 SP with 75 ST. The game treated them like co leaders. WIth 4 teams set like this I didn't get a single lead out in about 5 tests.

Typically the high stamina sprinters attacked early or just sprinted independently. So you get a sprint like this featuring 7 of the 8 riders(uses my World Series jerseys). Far left and far right riders are on the same team, as are the second from left and right, as are the purple jersey and purpose shorts. THe 8th guy had attacked earlier and been caught.

When I set the ST back to 65 for both sprinters on each team I got lead outs. I also get lead outs if I make their ST the same but their SP and AC are mixed. (81/83 and 82/81).

So I think it is interpreting the strong stamina rider as a rouluer. I expect the same would happen if I gave them a strong FL.

So I don;'t think this is a huge issue you just don't want to put as your lead out man a rider who the game will think should be a rouler leader for himself. This may explain some of the races where the best sprinter doesn't get a lead out.

By any chance did you change the endurance values for all the classes in STA_type_rider? Or just the sprint category that I posted. Because if it is treating the other riders as a strong Flat specialist then removing the stamina value on that one should also help reduce the overall rating for that rider.

I'll dig into this a bit more, as actually just removing the STA_type_rider endurance values would actually also lower the OVR rating of sprinters to the game as well. There is also the strong chance the 3d race engine just doesn't care as that table was a relic from the older versions.

At first I cleared only Sprinters row then I cleared ST from all rows (ardennes - was the only other one using it). There are still resistance values in other rows. Didn't change anything.

I think it is probably a relic or it might still effect career model OVL but not effect 3D races.
