Wow, an amazing fightback for Berhane to secure Eritel's first race victory of the season. Lofkvist's 2 bad days couldn't have come at a worse time, and was lucky to capitalise on that. Content enough with the performances of my sprinter's too, the key being that he did at least win 1 stage.
Thanks tsmoha for creating the stages, and reporting them so well.
Will be very interesting to see the ranking points scored from this race!
Mixed bag for us, overall happy with Farrar's performance throughout the race, but this was Quintana's chance and he completely collapsed and was virtually non existent throughout the race. Probably not going to get enough points to stay on the top 15 side of the PCT rankings but glad I didn't go into this race desperate for points to avoid relegation.
I've been a quiet, but regular follower of this race, and I've been impressed with the tight GC fight and the Cabrera dominance in the sprints (Gerald, take notes please ), and obviously the ever-delivering tsmoha did it once again from creating the great route to covering it all in near-supersonic speed as always.
Congratulations to Eritel who can use this success as their season hasn't been as good as prior ones where they often were right in the promotion spots, Berhane made it more exciting than necessary as the tough mountain profiles didn't quite give the gaps they could have.
Also congratulations to any other team who takes a victory of some sorts from this race, and it was nice to see the teams in relegation danger having some results to cheer about as well after all.
I second the interest in the scored points from this race, and I fear Prio's pprd took a hit big enough to have them rely on PT disbandments from now on...it would be a shame if their roster couldn't get them back there.
A quite disappointing race for us on one hand as we failed to get anyone in the Top 20 GC and also failed to get a stage win.
But on the other hand I think we have done just enough to stay out of the relegation spots. Three riders in the 20th-30th region is decent. Arroyo and Lopez resorted to the breakaway in order to move up in standings which was a good move. Arredondo though arguably the best of our riders here and a deserved KOM title in a race where he ensured excitement until the end. A good win bringing in points in the Team Classification which is a nice thing to win in a race like this.
Congrats to the most successful teams here, notably Cabrera's performances!
Will certainly be interesting having a look at the rankings now.
Thanks once again to the machine that is Tsmoha. As already said 21 stages in less than 2 weeks is greatly impressive. The quality of the reports has also been amazing as always!
Well it's been a great three weeks race. It always is! Congratulations to Eritel for their accomplishment, especially after having to claw back such a gap in the middle of the race.
I can't say this was a bad race for my team, especially after finding our way to a victory and three second places. However the GC was our main aim, and finishing 9th, without having ever been remotely close to the podium fight is disappointing.
The event though was a success imo. A great reporter, like tsmoha, always makes these kind of races feel likey are so much more than a game for nerds Especially when you were the one making the race itself. Be proud of yourself mate, you deserve it! And thanks a lot. Seriously, thank you TS!
