Damn, Nibali is good. I find it hard to believe Contador and maybe even Froome would be much better than he is, so hopefully he gets the respect he deserves for this Tour win.

About Valverde, if attacking several times on a climb classes as wheelsucking these days, then Im not really sure how anyone is seen as an attacking rider. I guess Nibali is also a wheelsucker for sitting on Majka and Konig's wheel for a km

I think most people are angry because of the moment when Pinot asked Valverde to take a turn and Piti refused. Moments afterwards Piti suddenly attacked Pinot. Not a very nice thing to do imo. I personally found it quite odd from Valverde, since they were working together so well.

Besides that they both took turns normally.

I dont see how that is wheelsucking at all though Pfft People have different opinions on what that is called, good strategy, being a douche etc. but not wheelsucking.

Remember who sat on Nibali's and later Valverde's wheel for the earlier parts of the climb when Valverde attacked from the group.

I totally agree with you. Why is everyone trying to put their opinion into the heads of other persons? Why can't some people just tolerate other opinions? I mean, does it matter if Person A does likes/dislikes Valverdes actions?

According to De Telegraaf Fuglsang is angry at Van den Broeck. Apparently Fuglsang crashed because VDB (accidentally) threw/dropped his bottle in his path.

What do you base that statement "Nibali is good" on? Froome and Contador is not there. So how can you compare?

But if you base it on who is left i think you forget just how much better Contador and Froome are compared to them.

With that said Nibali is no doubt the best of the guys left in the tour and unless he wants to create enemies the tour is over as far as the GC is concerned after today and tomorrow.

Last km, Valverde attacks. F**k Logic.

No it was Pinot "Lets work together"
Valverde "No I cant im at my limit"
Valverde attacks Pinot 30 seconds later.

He's not bad.

Times. Relative performances. Watts.

I dont think they can be much better compared to Valv and Pinot than Nibali was. Nibali has attacked and left everyone behind like it was nothing twice now. Its impossible to know who would be better of the 3 if they were all here still but I am certain they would have been close.

I have to say I agree with you. With form Nibali is in could Contador or Froome have gone any faster. I guess we will never know. But they could not have been much faster than him. And gap he got on pave would have been enough.

Anyway it also shows there are some riders who slowly reach peak during season and other is what sky have shown us, guys like Wiggins and Froome able to maintain consistency.

1st up his Palmares is a good place to begin when stating that Nibali is "good"
Another thing you can look at is the fact he isn't just leading the guys he is racing against here but he is dominating this Tour, much like his Giro last season. He already had a healthy lead on Contador before he crashed out is something you can base the claim that he is "good".
He clearly has peaked for this race perfectly and even if the other 2 were in the race it would not have been Froome, Contador and daylight back to Nibali. He can only beat what he is racing against and that he is dominating them says quite alot.

Remember Froome injuries were from day before Cobbles. Contador want great on them but who know's Froome could have been with Thomas like Porte. Their was not many crashes on cobble's. Froome is powerful, even if he was same as Contador, do you honestly not think Froome could gain a minute in the remaining climbs to Nibali?. He would then need to take 1 30 in ITT. Even 2 minutes in mountains would be possible.

Well, to be honest, you seem to have blinded hate against a certain rider too, and that's pretty obvious too Wink

Just asking,who?

Bauke Mollema. Just Belkin in general actually.

Yup, he's still butthurt about the echelon stage.

Nah, im not really. Valverde will get his podium this year, so all good. And they have gotten the biggest GC-talent which shined in Valverdes absence since Contador, so im good.

I could list several things that I dont like about Belkin/Rabobank, but I dont wanna tire you with that anymore, allthough some people on this forum obviously have helped me dislike your belowed team. I think we are done with that! Just funny how you always need to bring this up.

On Valverde: Even Kirchen says valv really did nothing wrong which says alot to me. People who state otherwise just have something against him - thats all fine and I can see why many people dislike him, but please, please, dont blame Valverde after this stage. He rode brilliantly and did whatever he needed to in order to at least try to challenge Nibbles. That should command alot of respect for a rider which apparantly is the peloton's biggest wheelsucker, but unfornutely it doesnt. Which is sad. At least to me.

That's all fine and good, everyone is entitled to his own opinion.

The thing is that you complained about someone blindly hating Valverde, while you (seem to) have the same with Mollema,'which you bring up over and over again Wink
