actually, no one is in place of unibet. there are only 21 teams this year.
EDIT: this thread has 17 pages and the damn race hasn't even started yet

3 hours and 8 minutes later, the last rider departs. Oscar Pereiro.

the prologue is so NOT technical. that narrows down the candidates' list immensely. guys like Pereiro have to be cut from it. It's definitely going to be interesting...

Bruyneel to L'Équipe:
"Levi will do his best, but that's not the important part. the whole team is centered around getting Alberto the white jersey"
it remains to be seen if Levi is dumb enough to not realise this is just a way of taking pressure off him. seems a very transparent attempt. |

I'm glad David Millar decided to attack. Hopefully he'll pick up enough bonus time to get into yellow - that would be great. A stage win would be even better, but you can't have everything

considering how far back he is, it's either both or none. he needs to win to get enough seconds. however, notice that whoever gets the mountain sprints today will wear the jersey for at least the next three days. |

The tactics by Cofidis were horrible. I mean, poor Auge. He fighted and fighted - deserved it much more than Millar - and yet his team screwed him up. |

Youre sure he deserved it?
When Millar was soloing off front, being chased by Auge and 3 others, Auge only did 10% of the work. I have no idea of the percentages of the rest of the day but if it stayed the same, its no wonder he managed to be the last to be caught.
Go Millar!

Poor Cavendish. It's bad enough in any stage of Le Tour, but he had a real good chance to do well in his home country today.
Anyway, what a ride by McEwen, and we of course, now have a British KOM . Now that's something I thought I would never hear

Go Millar!
10km before they got caught, they had all worked about the same, with Augé and Millar slightly more than the rest. the exception was Grivko who hadn't done squat.
that was the last time I saw the percentages.
anyway, how can a spectator fight with a cyclist...that's just insane...

Well if we're going on the strong rider, Millar definately deserved it. He had been out front for the longest yet after being caught, still managed to get to the front of the peleton. He was also the only rider from the breakaway to come home with the peleton (Apart from Grivko, who, as you say, did nothing).
When did a spectator fight with a cyclist?

Cofidis screwed up, and I think it's as simple as that.
