Didn't he launch too early in E3 as well?

No he didn't he just latched on Thomas closing the gap on Vandenbergh. It was impossible for him to lose that sprint. |

Stannard classics campaign close to being over. Had a CT scan and back injury is revealed. Unlikely to race as there's no point really, he can't go 100% and risks aggravating injury further.
Gutting, but at least he took one massive win for himself. Wouldn't do much at Ronde as Thomas is captain but could have podiumed Roubaix ( and even win it ) in the right circumstances.

Uhm, not really.
For a semi bunch sprint actually a good result for him. Degenkolb and Démare ought to be much faster than him.
Sagan should definitely beat the likes of Degenkolb and Demare if he wants to challenge, Kittel or Cav later on in the season.
But that's not what Sagan is here for. Sagan isn't a sprinter. Sure he can take Green with quite some ease even, but he's no sprinter. At least not like Kittel, Greipel or Cav. He's a 2nd line sprinter, 2nd line puncher and 2nd line cobbler (my opinion), but with billiant steering qualities and guts, and that makes him a 1st line contender for many races

Sagan isn't a pure sprinter. He can beat likes of Demare and Degen on occassions, as he can Kittel or Cav. However most of time they should be faster.
Anyway as Ian said, Sagan doesn't need to beat any of these guys to win the points jersey.

Yes, was very much looking forward to seeing how he went in Paris-Roubaix this year, where I expected him to be in the mix. A real shame for him but glad he's at least got that win already. |

Wiggins is their captain for Paris Robaix. I don't know how can team select someone who has not done single competitive 1 day race for last 3-4 years, but Servais Kenaven said he is their leader. You can train but tactics you can only learn during race. |

I imagine that's for the benefit of PR with the British public. I strongly suspect Wiggo is still in can't be ars*d mode and Stannard would've got a good run at it. I guess you never know, maybe Wiggins will turn up in shape...or there's still time for him to pull out... |

I would pay for that.
Anyway, i am away not able to watch racing for few days and Sagan wins WT race. Not bad, i should start to plan more vacancies.
Thanks for the replays, as i can watch it now.

Because Sky don't know how to run a classics campaign.
