The Panzerwagen just got beat by the Sherman and Cromwell, and whatever a Danish tank would be. Looks like it will be Phinney to beat for the overall victory in Dubai.

Phinney isn`t a huge surprise here seeing that he raced San Luis already while Cance and Martin race the first time this season.
Norman Hansen with a strong race though.

Early season and stuff aside this is a brilliant result for Lasse Norman
Should be a good confidence booster for him!

Nice result from Sagan in his strong discipline. It seems he is coming to form already.

Only ~50 km/h on 10 km, that was a rather slow one. Any idea why ?
Also, last year some teams didn't bring TT bikes for Gulf races, so, did they bring them this year ?

No TT bikes is one reason surely as all teams weren`t allowed to use them or any addition to their handlebars.
Wind might be another one even though I don`t know if there was any today.
The course also wasn`t the easiest.

Why they're not using TT bike with handlebars? And today they seem to use radio..are they allow to use it in non WT event?

TT equipment is forbidden in Qatar, Oman and here to prevent bigger teams having an advantage because they could afford to fly it in.

Not all teams brought them, so that must explain why they decided no one would use them.
And they didn't bring them because either they haven't received them yet from their manufacturers, either they found it's too expensive to bring them so far away, especially given the little TT distance.
edit : zabell'ed, by a more valuable answer

Can someone let me know how technical the Dubai course was? With Sagan in 6th I assume it was fairly technical.

Beat me to it. Not that money is an object but the Dubai Tour has a pretty swish website, including rotatable leaders jerseys
Also the hair thing clearly works for Phinney somehow

Interesting, thanks. Some sections that clearly rely on sprinting and bike handling with some nice power sections as well. A really nicely balanced TT.
