@SS2JLuigi: In fact Froome beat Valverde by one second in the last stage he took bonuses Rolling Eyes

@sutty68: he is becoming one of the best puncher so it was good to see him ther Wink

@Shonak: It' odd but it made the race so fun to follow Grin

D.Boucher
N.Bouhanni
M.Fischer
A.Geslin
M.Ladagnous

Pre-Race:

The plan today was easy, it was all for Nacer and if I had good legs I was allowed to take my chance.

Race Report:

Today the breakaway had no trouble to make its own way, the pack was not inclined of riding fast too soon and four guys left including our William Bonnet ( FDJ) who wanted to show himself.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/27%20Doubs/PCM0002_zps1d329359.jpg

Then the race went quite easily until the last climb which I entered first of the Pack, I had good legs and it was now or never.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/27%20Doubs/PCM0003_zps0a64854c.jpg

I accelerated, my team mates let me go and I quickly joined the 4 guys at the front. William helped me during few meters but I was so strong that I was quickly alone against the rest.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/27%20Doubs/PCM0004_zpsce22ce7e.jpg

Behind me other riders tried to leave the pack so during the Downhill I gave everything I had. The chase in the pack was not so well organized and I had a descent gap, I knew the victory was mine when I had 1 kilometer left, I took time to enjoy it and I finally raised my arms to the sky for the 10th time this year!!!

And this is it, I'm now sure to be the winner of the PMU French Cup. I have enough points on Nacer to be crown for the second time in a row, at the age of 20 that quite unusual.

I'm also sure to be part of the French Team for the World Championships, I 'm really glad to be selected I will do everything to deserve that spot in the team.

I'm also now 5 race of the end of my season with FDJ.fr, I'm currently spending time on the offers I have and I will take my decision soon.

After these four races there were some deception in the team, Okay Arnaud won in Belgium but we were expecting more than one victory with our two sprinter in the squad.

After the Omloop van het Houtland Lichtervelde I took the plane to Spain for the World Championships which are my next race. Then I will ride the Tour de Vendée, it will be my last race of the season.

Race Report:

This year, the World Championship were taking place in Ponferrada (), I had great wishes about that race, and the first one to be realized was wearing the suit of my country.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/29%20World/PCM0003_zps6fa71aa7.jpg

I did not want to burn too much energy too soon so contrary to Winner Andrew Anacona Gomez ( LAM), Alexey Lutsenko ( AST), Robert Vrečer ( VBG), Maros Kovác ( DUK) and Paul Martens ( BEL) I stayed in the pack.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/29%20World/PCM0004_zpsfbffbe9c.jpg

When we were 60 kilometers from the finish, the peloton was laying down really fast on the breakaway under the impulsion of Belgium and Netherlands' teams.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/29%20World/PCM0005_zpse2668f2b.jpg

And then bad luck stokes on the team, Thomas Voeckler ( EUC) crashed, he stayed on the floor for many minutes and he left the race in an ambulance, heal fast mate.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/29%20World/PCM0006_zps28c601d7.jpg

With 31 kilometers left, the last World Champion went on the attack to defend his title, I name here Philippe Gilbert ( BMC).

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/29%20World/PCM0007_zps3a717d53.jpg

With 15 kilometers to go, three man were leading the race, Philippe Gilbert ( BMC), Robert Gezink ( BEL) and Joaquin Rodriguez Oliver ( KAT) were gone for the victory.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/29%20World/PCM0008_zpsafd1cf22.jpg

But coming out of nowhere, came Alejandro Valverde Belmonte ( MOV), there were 5 kilometers left, the gap on the chasing group was over the minute, and Valverde despite the chase seemed to be the fresher of the group.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/29%20World/PCM0009_zps5a8ed046.jpg

And he did it, he won the world championships on his lands in Spain. Gilbert ended at the second position and Robert Gesink took the third.

Behind them the pack sprinted for the honors, I did the best result for France taking the 17th position right in front of my team mate Anthony Roux.

All in all it was a great day for me, I took part in my first world championships, I've ended them and I did the best result of my country.

I was not expecting something else, I don't have the skills yet to compete with the best punchers but I hope one day I will.

Finally!, Valverde finally is world champion!, i'm surprised that he wasn't beated in the sprint. Great result by Anthony, best french rider. I would choose to go with IAM, IMO is the best option

Hope Anthony was happy with his performance Wink

@welker3257: Thanks, you'll here news from Thomas soon, but rumors are telling that he might stop his career because of this fall Sad

@24sebaf: Thanks, and Valverde was clearly the strongest there, the others had no option but follow his split stream.

@sutty68: I cannot be more happy than I am already, it was my first participation and I did the best result of my country, I ended the race in the main chasing group. Cool

The Quest to a Contract - Final
After many days of reflection, I finally made a decision. I have sign a two year contract with the Dutch Team Argos - Shimano, I will ride alongside world class rider such as John Degenkolb or Marcel Kittel, I will join a log time friend of mine Warren Barguil.

I decide to go for that team as their squad for the classics was not very consistent. I will have a co-leading role with John in the Cobbled Classics and I will be a free element in the Ardennes Classics.
Of course I won't ride those races in 2015 but I will in 2016. I might also took part in my first Grand Tour which shall be the Tour de France or la Vuelta a España.

The team will evolve in World Tour next season and they already decided with me that my main objective for 2015 will be cyclo cross. It will serve me as a training for the 2016 season and I've never really quited Cyclo cross when I was riding with FDJ. My main goal will be the French NC where I'm sure I will be in top form.

Now that I have given you my future team, it's time for me to go, I still have one race left before the "holidays".

@welker3257: Well, I won't report the cyclo cross races in the same way since I won't really play them Embarassed (it will be fantasy reports)

@sutty68: I'm not worried about that since Argos always took part in the formation of young talent Wink

Race Report:

This was the last race of the season for me, and I wanted to get a good result. While some riders were at the Tour de L'Eurométropole or at Il Lombardia, many riders still decided to come here in France.

There were only two riders in the breakaway including my team mate Pierre-Henry Lecuisinier.

Thanks to P-H, we could stay calm inside the pack, he was making the efforts for us.

Bretagne - Séché, Argos - Shimano and BigMat - Auber93 were leading the pack at an incredible fast pace. I was always with Anthony as it has been decide that he would lauched me in the sprint.

When what I was expecting came, I was very were positioned, I had the wheel of Adrien Petit ( COF) and when I launched my sprint I was quite powerful. Despite my strength, I "failed" to the third position behind Ken Hanson ( UHC) and Fabien Bacquet ( BIG).

The season is now over for me, I 'm really happy of my results and overall records, I won 10 times this year and I made 42 top 10 which is quite amazing for a 20 year old rider.

The team won 69 times this year which is the highest number of victory this season. Arnaud won 24 times and Nacer 16.

I will now be off for a long time as it has been decided with my next team that my starting race for 2015 will be The Tour of Pologne, which is in late July. I will come here before to make the Bilan of 2014.

My bold prediction for next season, Anthony will win the Eneco Tour if he takes part Wink

The PMU French Cup should be sponsored by FDJ next year Pfft

@welker3257: I already made second this year so yes I might be a candidate to victory next year Wink

@sutty68: there was not much suspens but yes it is so good to win this 2 times in a row especially since next year I will not have the chance to defend my title Frown.

As you might have seen, instead of riding for Argos - Shimano, I will ride under the colors of Giant - Shimano. This is the same team but with a different name.

It's now time to say good bye and see you in july Wink
