Not a chance in hell. I think Brailsford would rather fight for a completely achievable podium place (by holding them back) than a shot at a stage win and a 5th from Wiggins (by letting them go).

Gesink on the podium, Kelderman in white.
Looking very decent so far, but real climbing stages still to come.
Wiggins with a, for him, sub-par performence, not gaining nearly enough time he needed to.
Nibali suprised me, best ITT he's ever done. |

Have a hard time seeing another winner then Nibali for the total... but fight for podium and top-5 should be really open and fun. Especially with some really good climber that looks to be in good shape for example Pozzo... |

Say what now? He's better placed than both, and more than within reach of the overall victory.
And yeah, Millar was kind of a mistake. Forgot that he has really been decreasing recently.

Yeah, nice from Sporza that they showed that, just before ending the broadcast
Yeah I don't get it. Sporza is always looking for the Dutch and talking about them etc etc, but you Dutchies probably don't give a rat's ass about us Belgians on your television during the races
Nah, not that much no.
But the difference is, many Dutchmen are watching Sporza. I don´t think you watch Dutch(not Flemish, Dutch) TV for Cycling, do you?

Are you mental?
Don't get me wrong, though, I give a rat's ass about you Dutchies (especially Kelderman) |

The Dutchies generally like De Gendt and Meersman.

One thing I like about Renaat Schotte is the fact that he talks a lot about Dutch riders. Could also be due to the fact that a lot of Dutch cycling fans watch Belgian television, because the commentary is better. And because Dutch televion hardly broadcasts any cycling races. |

If Henao and Kelderman doesn't get punished for the tandem riding i will be shocked and disappointed. |

Evans? Well... Although it's of course also about 'managing' your effort.
Dowsett slow on the climb, but we already knew that, Sporza commentator said that about 100 times
@Ian I prefer Sporza as well. Eurosport isn't that great, and NOS rarely broadcasts Cycling.
And yay
Belgians are on nr.2 as well here, btw
@Gotlandrules I know that that's your opinion.

Oi Evans, you are only meant to be at the Giro d'Italia as preparation for the Tour de France . In all seriousness it is great to see Evans proving he is possibly not done just yet. However, two weeks and several difficult stages still leaves time for plenty of potential dramas and changes in the standings. |

Shouldn't the jury have descided that some time ago? Kelderman already got called on the podium. |

Say what now? He's better placed than both, and more than within reach of the overall victory.
Seeing him suffer so much in his speciality (ITT) makes me wonder how much he will lose in the mountains, where both Nibali and Hesjedal are stronger / showed better form. And again, Uran and Henao both showed decent form, I could see them (mostly Henao though) finishing in front of Wiggins in the GC, given that Wiggins doesn't recover / gain motivation / eat his breakfast / etc..
But yeah, the "Giro is over" part was not so thought over on my part, we may see some sort of crazy Sky train action in the mountains
On another notes, nice to see Evans and Santambrogio doing well today, they are looking comfortable for a Top 5 and Top 10 finish in the GC respectively (but again, this Giro is already proving to be unpredictable ) |

I didn't know Boaro could climb. Clement was impressive. Finally back to his 2008/2009 shape again. |

Great win for Dowsett.
Wiggins would've won without a bike change but lost too much time in the twisting, technical start anyway plus Nibali was immense regardless.
So Nibali is the concrete favourite.
How long can Evans surprise for?
Real scrap for the podium.
Long way to go.
Roll on the Giro \o/

I don't see Wiggo winning a lot time in the mountains. I rate Nibbles higher there. Wiggo was supposed to win 2 minutes here, so, yeah, this is at least a major setback for him. Also, I wonder how Wiggins is mental, now, after all those crashes and time losses(and time not won where it should've been)
I'd give Henao the lead now
