As what I saw he didn't do anythin wrong, when he took the escape route, he let Kimi overtake him again, as he should, and it was Kimi that hit Hamilton at that point.

He cut the chicane, so he had more speed than Kimi, let him overtook him again but just enough to get drafted and overtake him before the spin. He'd never have gotten enough speed to pass Kimi, had he not cut the last chicane. |

Who cares about him overtaking Kimi, he went out of the way anyway? And it was Kimis back that hit Hamiltons front, so he took the escape route, he couldn't avoid it.

I'm reading that he's now being investigated, but was disclassified. Strange thing is that he was already under investigation at the end of the GP, now it says the investigation started one hour after the end of the GP. :s
Oh, we'll see... |

Oh I thought I wouldn´t find here someone who is praying for that someone should be disqualifyed :/ (Because I thought everyone here is clever enough)
I am in a German Formula 1 Forum and of course there are people who are tipping a truck of bulls...perm
Hamilton hasn´t done anything wrong , he let Kimi overtake and has overtaken him in the hairpin thats a legal move
If Hamilton would be disqualifyed , so also Kimi for the collision in the hairpin , Bourdais for the start , Kovalainen for boxing out Webber and the other ones who are under investigation for overtaking under yellow (Glock , Alonso , Kubica and some other ones I´ve forgotten)
Hamilton had to shortcut because he would have Kimi kicked out of the race...
Sad for Kimi but the turtoise wins more often than a rabbit because the rabbit could be shot when he is running infront of a hunter!

25 seconds penalty for both Glock and Hamilton, which gives Webber the P8 point and makes Hamilton 3rd (Massa wins in front of Heidfeld).
Glock overtook under yellow flag. |

Somehow Formula 1 died for me in a way , thats not normal (If I would be a McLaren Chef , I would protest against that , the reglement doesn´t say how you have to let someone overtake , but you have to be overtaken) thats Wrestling , writing history like you would like to have it right :/ |

Im presuming it was when he passed Raikkonen by skipping part of the track, then let Raikkonen back through as the rule dictates. The fact that Hamilton then overtake Raikkonen again is surely irrelevant? Unless the rule is more detailed and precise than that?
Still, the Hamilton penalty makes the leniency of Massa's one in Valencia a bit more interesting. Wasnt the reason for not stripping Massa's win due to him not gaining a sporting advantage? Well there could be an argument that Hamilton gained no sporting advantage from what happened since Raikkonen went and crashed off anyway.
Other questions it provokes include why Rosberg got away with no punishment (Didnt he nearly crash into Hamilton when recovering from a spin?) and why 25 seconds?
If only the FIAs rulebook wasnt so complex, it would be much easier for people like us to actually check if a penalty seems harsh or not.

I think 25 seconds is a standard, but sometimes it's 10 seconds too...
The rules says that when you cut a curve or a chicane, you must not take advantage from it. This implies that you must give back your position if you won one thanks to that (Hamilton won one but gave it back ok). Still he got advantage from it, as it seems unlikely he would have passed Kimi on the next spin like he did then, had he not cut the chicane. Thus he got a time penalty.
Though, they didn't disclassify him... It seems that it's not only because he belongs to a big team that he avoided it, nor because he's a McLaren driver competing against Ferraris that he got punished. It's a bit more sneaky... FIA corrupt bastards just found a convenient way to add a little more suspense to the drivers championship that way... Most of times their decisions seem to be guided by the championships suspense. |

It's unbelevable how they can give such a punisment, Raikkonen DNF'ed anyway, and SO many others did something similar today.

Yeah, but they're not involved in the championship's battle, so the FIA doesn't care. Simple as that. |

Come on guys, if you can't see the injustice (and ever so slight questionalbiliy) of the decision, then your all not as smart as I give you credit for.
The guy won fair and square.
Nobody is normal
