Agree, it does make a mockery out of the name EUROvision
Why not? 60th anniversary, Australia are already part of the EBU (which is more than can be said for Lichtenstein), and Russia aren't really part of Europe either.

The EBU have implemented a rule so if Australia win, the contest will stay in Europe. SBS will be the host broadcaster and will have to choose a European city for it to be held in. But if Australia win, they are allowed to stay on for another year.
So, the bandwagon beginning to rear its head(would say ugly, but too much of an obsessive). Checklist-
Failed artist trying his luck in Europe? Check.
Big Five favourite? Check.
UK attempting to tap into 'new genre' with Mick Jagger impersonator and failed reality TV show contestant? Check.

Watched the whole of Melodifestivalen last night, great show as always! Måns Zelmerlöw is a deserving winner, he was probably the best there along with Eric Saade, but I really think Heroes could pull it out the bag and take the win!
Well, the Norwegian version of Melodi Grand Prix was not as strong as it has been in the past. A Norwegian Rylan Clarke lookalike, a rap about Pizza, and a Common Linnets knock-off (seems to be the theme of this year's ESC) all made it to the final vote, and it turns out another Common Linnets-esque band won with 'A Monster Like Me'. Tonight we will find out Azerbaijan's entrant!
All 40 songs have finally been announced, the last of course being Guy Sebatian's entry for Australia. Nice little jazzy pop number, could do well, but I think people will vote for it as a "Haha, they ain't in Europe so we gonna vote for them innit" sort of thing.
