I feel shame for some of those riders, as I like them very much. |

Normal 2 year suspension?
That should be it for VDV and Danielson. Garmin's mountain support team suddenly non-existent.

and there is talk of it being backdated to the start of the investigation earlier in the year
so they may return for Paris-Nice 2013

I would probably confess nearly everything if I only miss some French prep races.

When the material comes out, I'm gonna try and see what a floor of 20 1st year Bio-Eng and medical students make of it here at Imperial just because we're bored waiting for our courses to start! |

I hope Lance will go down hard now. Excellent to see that USADA has good grounds.
Wouldn't surprise me if UCI stops it all though.

That's why posting a 200-page summary online is such a great move by USADA

"The riders who participated in the USPS Team doping conspiracy and truthfully assisted have been courageous in making the choice to stop perpetuating the sporting fraud, and they have suffered greatly," USADA said in a written statement.
-- How have they suffered greatly? I don't see it. |

Great move by the USADA to release this publicly. What'll be key to watch here in the next few days is Lance's response. If he and his camp come out quickly and strongly against it, he won't back down. If they waver, or the statement isn't that strong, I think you can start the countdown to the ESPN Outside the Lines where Lance admits doping to Jeremy Schapp. He'll do it to save whatever public respect he has left. |

Bizarre thought. This is Levi's 2nd suspension, isn't that still mandatory lifetime? I mean, I know it's ultimately up to the sanctioning body, but technically he should be suspended for life...
EDIT: It would give a new meaning to Levi4Life...

Driving home from work with an interview with David Walsh on the radio was a nice surprise.
A great day for cycling, all the evidence finally being widespread public knowledge

Ask Di Luca about that!
Seriously though, I don't know very well the specifics about Levi's 1st positive test, but I think he didn't get a full 2 years ban, right? Were there even such bans back then?
And finally, does he get the record for the most (timewise) spaced doping bans?

6 months for something over the counter. It's still an interesting question though.
He's certainly up there, at what, 13 years? I doubt anyone has a bigger gap...
EDIT: 16 years. It was a sixth month ban for something that he said he got because he took Claritin, which is an over the counter allergy medication.
