Doesn't look like a strong field. Nonetheless a commanding win.

Stage 2: 215.8 km Flat

BA plan: try to lead out Blythe again, make sure neither Ulissi or Phinney lose any time.

Excellent recovery: Ulissi, Blythe, Phinney, Lloyd.
Very Good: Langeveld, Murray, Lavery, Brownlee.

Murray covers Ulissi, Lloyd covers Blythe. Water shared round

Breakaway: T Phinney (BAY), M Cumming (RCJ), N Wyntick (SKT), A Peters (MGT)

British Airways keep trying to get Langeveld or Phinney into the breakaway and on the 4th attempt it worked.

With 18.7km to go on the penultimate climb the breakaway is caught. Simon Yates attacks but is brought back by Team Netapp.

The group is thinning out. Oscar Gatto takes the sprint from a reduced group. Ulissi finishing 6th.

[That wasn’t flat, I should have known better. I used to have to ride up Beast Banks (the last climb)]

Stage Winner: Oscar Gatto (CAN)
Red Jersey: Oscar Gatto (CAN)
Points Jersey: Simon Clarke (OGE)
Mountain Jersey: Luke Grivell-Mellor (RCJ)
Young Riders Jersey: Simon Yates (YDS)

Stage 3: 16.1 km flat TT

BA plan: Not sure putting Phinney in the breakaway yesterday was a great idea, but if it worked it could have been a tour winning move. Ah well, time for the TT.

Excellent recovery: Blythe
Very Good: Lloyd, Ulissi, Murray
Good: Lavery, Langeveld, Brownlee, Phinney

Taylor Phinney takes the stage. Sorry forgot the photo Sad

Stage 4: 190.7 km Hills

BA plan: Likely to thin out a little bit at the end. Going to be working for Ulissi today. Look for an opportunity for an attack but not sure possible today.

Excellent recovery: Ulissi, Blythe, Murray, Lloyd.
Very Good: Lavery, Langeveld, Brownlee
Good: Phinney

Lloyd covers Ulissi, Lavery covers Langeveld. Water shared round

Breakaway: B Greenwood (IGS), B Day (YDS), M McNally (SKT), C Jones (UHC)

82.0 km – Ian Wilkinson from the Yorkshire Development squad crashes.

20km last climb numerous small scale attacks, brought back by Lloyd and Lavery.

12 km to go, British Airways hit the front, Langeveld leading out Ulissi to see what damage we can do.

After Langeveld drags him up the hill keeping the pace high, Ulissi attacks over the top.

Ulissi catches up with the breakaway with 2.7km to go, and briefly pauses for breathe and then launches his sprint…

Ulissi just pips Ben Day from the development squad on the line.

Excellent recovery: Ulissi, Blythe, Langeveld, Lloyd.
Very Good: Lavery, Murray
Good: Phinney, Brownlee

Lloyd covers Ulissi, Lavery covers Langeveld. Water shared round

Breakaway: S Lampier (NGR), S Van Vooren (SKT), R Partridge (YDS), E Oliphant (RAL)

British Airways and Garmin Sharp bring work to bring back the breakaway.

Oliphant stayed away from the breakaway to win the stage. The favourites finished in a group behind. Rohan Dennis winning the sprint, Ulissi finishing second.

Stage 6: 137.6 km Hills

BA plan: This is the queen stage. Push for an Ulissi stage win, see if we can get the overall as well.

Excellent recovery: Ulissi, Blythe, Langeveld, Lloyd.
Very Good: Lavery, Murray
Good: Phinney, Brownlee

Lloyd covers Ulissi, Lavery covers Langeveld. Water shared round

Breakaway: M Hayman (OGE), S Van Vooren (SKT), D Clarke (YDS), R Hampton (RAL)

British Airways in charge for stage today.

Looks like the breakaway is going to stay away. Russell Hampton takes the stage from the breakaway, Clarke from the Yorkshire Development squad finishes 2nd. That's a second stage win for Raleigh.

Now back to the GC riders, Ulissi takes time out of Dennis but is it enough? Only just, Rohan Dennis loses his jersey by just 2 seconds! Looks like the intermediate sprints could be important.

Stage 7: 150.3 km Flat.

BA plan: Sprint stage. Not sure I’m going to work too hard for this. I want the breakaway to take the bonus seconds.

Excellent recovery: Ulissi, Blythe, Langeveld, Lloyd.
Very Good: Phinney, Murray, Lavery
Good: Brownlee

Langeveld covers Ulissi, Lloyd covers Blythe. Water shared round. Lavery gets into the breakaway.

Breakaway: M McNally (SKT), A Bazzana (UHC), M Cronshaw (IGS), K House (RCS), S Lampier (NGR), J Bellis (YDS), P Lavery (BAY), J Horrach (MGT)

43 km to go, and the breakaway has a 6 minute lead. Looks like the stage will be decided amongst the breakaway.

8.5km to go and the breakaway has 1 minute and 3 seconds to go. They still should take it shouldn’t they?

Lavery uses Bellis as his lead out, was there collusion between the two Yorkshire teams?

Lavery manages to beat Matt Crampton in the sprint.

[Last stage of the year]
Stage 8: 88.6 km Flat.

Phinney gets into the breakaway.

Breakaway: S Baylis (MGT), M Holmes (RAL), T Phinney (BAY), M Cuming (RCJ), D Downing (YDS), S Downey (SKT)

25km to go, breakaway has 1 min 27 seconds. Unlikely to stay away. Should be a bunch sprint but need to keep an eye on Dennis and Miller in case they grab some time back. Cannondale and Sky working hard to bring the breakaway back.

11 km to go, Cannondale and Sky have split the pack. Blythe has stayed in the front group, Ulissi does too thanks to hard work from Langeveld.

The breakaway gets caught in the last 600m and the Garmin rider Steele Van Hoff takes the bunch sprint. Adam Blythe was completely out of position to contest the sprint

We've won the tour of Britain by 2 seconds Smile

That's it for the cycling for the 2014 (unless a womens database comes along).
Arise, Sir Wiggo of Kilburn

[Right, baring a 2014 Womens database that's it for the 2014 season.

I'll be moving the game onto PCM 2014 for the 2015 season.

The 2015 Development squad will be undertaken on the PCM enhanced database when it comes out ... hopefully soon.

The 2015 Worldtour squad will take part on the PCM enhanced 2015 version usually out in February 2015.

The womens team will race if I ever see a database Sad

To convert the game I need to add the equipment so (all teams use the same):

Frame: Boardman (I've been using this anyway so I'll stick with it).
Wheels: Campagnolo (Again I'll stick with what I was using).
Groupset: None at moment so with go with Campagnolo.

Idea will be to have them on a one year contract and the Worldtour game will decide the ones for the season afterwards.]

Signing off until the new database comes out. See you then.

T Vermeer from the Jo Piels team jumps with 5 km to go, can he stay away.
Yes, he can.

With none of the other riders in a good position, that will be it for Yorkshires chances.

The former Yorkshire rider Ian Wilkinson wins the stage, although he may need some very good brakes.

A train wreck by Yorkshire there. They don’t even get a point in the team classifications.

Lots of individual attacks here, no team really in Control. Michael Vink and Joshua Atkins join in the attacks.

Diego Milan however is the rider who makes it stick for a fantastic solo win.

However Yorkshire riders finishing 3rd, 7th and 9th should give them a good team rating.

Sadly, looks like this thread will be coming to an end. The whole real life thing is getting in the way and just don't have the time to keep updates regular.
Throughly enjoyed it and I will continue playing the team but not writing about it. G
