How is it weird ?
Szmyd crossed line first but wasn't held by crash.
Menchov was held up and got same as Wiggins and all who were held up by the peleton.

The finish order will stay but times adjusted I think. So Menchov rode in with Szmyd but wasn't held up in the crash if that makes sense :/ |

I know, still it looks weird...
Shame Westra and Voeckler lost over 7 minutes...
And Cobo over 10 minutes even tho he might've set his goal at the Vuelta...

If it stands impressive that Greipel and Hendersen finished with the front group. Wonder if they might pay a little for it tomorrow but good ride. |

Isn't this stage categorised as a medium mountain stage? Why did they gave wiggo the same time then? or why they didn't give him the time of the second group which was larger (at 8 seconds)?

There is no second group at 8 seconds, its all 1 big group at 1 second

So, before the Tour started, Menchov and Wiggins were the only contenders who hadn't crashed or otherwise had major problems derailing their preparation (which was the main reason why Wiggins was the favorite, he was the only guy left standing)
Are they injured too now?

Why they changed it? Don't remember time being given back last year when there was a crash on stage 1. |

Wiggins just came to a standstill behind the crash and assume the same for Menchov? |

Wiggins looked fine at first glimpse. No idea about Menchov.

Last year it was categorised as flat stage, now this is medium mountain stage. If they crash on top of la toussuire they'll do the same? This is weird... |

You remember wrongly Wiggins was amongst those to have been given time back last year on Stage 1 having been held up by a late crash. If youre thinking of Contador's crash that day, then no time was given because it was outside the final 3km.

Hesjedal was still in the front group
Was hoping he'd been tailed off |

Menchov has a knack for getting held up, doesn't he?
