On the Froome issue - he was well-aware of his situation when he renewed his contract with Sky after the Vuelta last year. He had lots of offers, he could easily have become the captain at several teams, yet he decided to stay with Sky, knowing he'd have to work for Wiggins.
There's absolutely no reason to feel bad for him. However, as a spectator, it is a shame to see the strongest rider miss out on both a Vuelta and a Tour victory. Can't be fun for him to know that either.
How long was the contract?
3 years IIRC
will be interesting to see Contador vs Froome in next years TDF |

Well, speaking of Froome, in today's L'Equipe it's said Astana is trying to sign him. |

Ah, the most suspicious guy to the most suspicious team...
But that would mean no Schleck(s) and a huge transfer fee.

Hope he goes to Astana and never wins another race again.
Any news on GreenEDGE transfers? I think they need a Fuglsang-type rider to be their stage race leader. How many guys like him are there out of contract this year?

I doubt they will go for a GC leader. They will probably wait for Porte to come out of contract.

Devolder will not renew with Vacansoleil due to his poor results, and he's talking with Radio-shack for next year. In the meantime Vacansoleil thinks to sign Flecha, but he should have a contract for another year with sky

That would be a good move from Devolder. It would keep him in team leadership on the cobbles.

Flecha leaving would be sad, but he needs opportunities and Vac will offer that for him. However I see Sky signing a big classic cobbled rider this year - especially after this season's problems with lack of riders through injuries.

Would be a stupid move. They need to give EBH, Thomas, Stannard, etc a chance rather than wasting them by bringing in somebody else.

It might be. However they hinted at wanting to win Ronde or Roubaix soon and none of those 3 are capable yet of winning it.
EBH is yet totally unpredictable. Stannard will be given leader role at Omloop or Dwars I think next year for now. Thomas will lead at Ronde, but he's not potential winner of Roubaix yet.

So he is rumored to come home to Bruyneel (He was a US Postman in 2004 if im not mistaken). I wonder why? Are the pharmaceuticls Vacansoleil supplies not good enough or does he just need somebody to put him on a diet because he feels that he is to heavy to get over them hills in the Ronde?

Looking at the rate of Sky's riders development. I think it wouldn't be surprising to see Stannard and Thomas owning Boonen and Cancellara next year. |

Talking to Radioshack won't be much use if the team shuts down at the end of the season. |

I'm reminded of what I kept saying after he won the Ronde in 2008:
He just won for the second time the only race he has ever had motivation to train for. There goes that motivation. His career is done.
And as a few other people pointed out at the time, he won both times on account of having a much better teammate who everyone was marking, giving him tons of freedom. When he left QuickStep he would never do anyone again.
But hey, Lance said Devolder could be a Tour winner, so clearly Bruyneel should hire him

in the late evening and this past night, <a href="https://www.spaziociclismo.i...zio..., posted some interesting news: Alexandre Geniez is said to be going to Cofidis together with Jean Christophe Peraud https://www.spaziociclismo.it/?action=...izia=21665
after Nibali and A.Schleck, rumours say that Astana has targeted Christopher Froome as its new main GC rider for next year, even if he has a two-year contract with Sky https://www.spaziociclismo.it/?action=...zia=21664
speaking of Astana, Tanel Kangert renewed his contract for two years https://www.spazio...izia=21667
Jerome Coppel negated that he had been in contact with Garmin-Sharp, though with some other teams, but he affirmed that he' s goig to renew with Saur-Sojasun https://www.spazio...izia=21668
Finally, Patrick Lefevre hinted that Mark Cavendish is too expensive of OPQS and maybe is too expensive for any team today, as Sky said that to free Cannonball from his contract with them it needs 6M€.

I would imagine that Liquigas will be offering an improved, extended contract to Sagan before anyone showed interest. |

He has already signed a new contract until 2014.
Geniez and Peraud to Cofidis is big news for them. They have said that they really want to be WorldTour next season and certainly Peraud is a good step towards that with the points from his 2011 results.

i can see Froome leaving. This guy has too much of self-confidence to help Wiggins anymore, he clearly wants to be a leader.

I'm a big fan of Geniez, thought he'd go to a better team than Cofidis, the guy has some talent
