Why a DQ?
It wasn't a bad thing that happened. UCI are really being stupid in this Tour already,

Trying to send a message to the lead-out guys i think. So they don't get another Dean vs. Renshaw fight.
My opinion is that they are getting old, the people in charge.

Like Paasche(Norwegian commetator) said, it was probably because it is extremly dangerous for both Cav and Thor and all the other riders behind them.

They rode along side each other, and then they bumped bodies. Thats it.

Stupid descision by the race leaders. Stupid. None of them deserved to be disq! There have been more than enough deaths or serious accidents in cycling this year, and TDF's image is already tarnished by the lack of ethics by some actors there, so the race directors probably decided for a low-tolerance policy with such behaviours. And they're showing it as soon as possible. |

Still, there was a ridiculously low level of danger there...

Boonen managed to hold onto Petacchi's wheel.
Unfortunately for him, Petacchi came 161th.

Taaramäe about pucture.
Katusha rider pushed its way through the crack in the place where the rider would not fit and took with him several Rein front wheel spokes. |
