No-one left after Hagen - why did Sky push so hard to catch a break with no GC danger?

Doesn't make sense. When Hagen pulls off, Wiggins won't be in an easy position

Basso seems to be getting better.

There's 1 other sky rider in the group, i presume Uran?

EVH in year or two if he can concentrate on GC's I think he will be up there and threat. Amazing so far.

That makes it a bit better then

Don't count on that based on one climb on one day.

Exactly what I mean. Sky seem to be very tactically lacking.

Which makes what EBH is doing both more impressive and more stupid Smile

Wilier
Yeah go Gesink.

ember
Nice to see Gesink finally doing something serious. This is good for Wiggins too.

Not really impressive. It would be impressive if he held that pace or on to the group the entire climb, but the fact is he was just there to set a very high pace and then cruise to the finish. A lot of guys who are climbing better than him today were dropped by him because they have to set a pace that will last them the whole climb.

Or to put it another way: He went that fast because he only had to do half the climb. He's coasting the rest of the way up.
