I know that Gesink isn`t bad in timetrial, especially on hilly ones. But if Hagen can follow that good on a climb he must be in a good shape obviously. That`s the only reason, but it will be close I think.
Also I don`t know where Cancellara, Fuglsang etc. finished yet. |

It's 40 seconds on a TT with 4,5km of seriously steep climbing.
Also take in mind they ride on normal bikes, not TT bikes, since the TT bikes are somewhere in Europe
So that's another disadavantage for Hagen I think. Because now he won't be as aerodinamic as possible
It won't be easy. That's all I'm saying. |

Hmm, on the other hand
https://www.cqrank...ceid=16871
This was the result last year. If it is the same TT then forget about it. Hagen wins
But it isn't.

The final climb is 6km long, I don't think Hagen can cope with it but we'll see. Gesink and Oliver seems favourites for the stage but we don't know their form exactly. |

Pretty sick.
Gesink did NOT attack at the foot of the climb. He went with 2km to go.
47 seconds in 2km .. and outside the top 5 the rest on a minute
IN 2 KM .... wtf |

Echelons had a lot to do with that.
They ripped the field apart from 40/30k to go. Many of the climbers already dropped before the climb |

1 Robert Gesink (Rabobank) | 2 Edvald Boasson Hagen (Sky) 0:47 | 3 Dries Devenyns (Quick Step) 0:53 | 4 Giovanni Visconti (Farnese Vini) 0:53 | 5 Christian Vandevelde (Garmin-Cervélo) 0:53 | 6 Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) 1:02 | 7 Maxime Monfort (Leopard-Trek) 1:02 | 8 Michael Albasini (HTC-Highroad) 1:02 | 9 Juan Antonio Flecha (Sky) 1:29 | 10 Patrick Sinkewitz (Farnese Vini) 1:29 |
Obviously there are quite a few riders not expected in the top 10 like VanAvermaet, Visconti, Flecha...
Probably also caused by the Echelons as the speed wasn`t too high on the mountain without the best climbers except of Gesink.
Also Vandevelde as good time trialist with some chances tomorrow. Could be a very close fight for the win/podium.

Ofcourse the speed wasn't too high. Flecha was making the pace appearently.
Gesink went with 2km to go, so he caught 20 seconds a kilometre.. Maybe should have gone from the foot of the climb |

~10km to go until the final climb.
Edit: My mistake. 10 to go, not 2.

Today's stage in Oman had weird results. :/
Anyhow, hope Contador doesn't win today. |

Hagen impressed my, should be now be the favourite to win the time-trial and the overall. gonna be close battle between him and probably Vandevelde tomorrow.
